soc_puppetDammit, Stereotypical Teenage Urge to Rebel Against Parents, why did you have to show up now?! Couldn't you have decided to show up when I started high school or something? Or, better yet, not at all? I mean, WTF. I'm eighteen. I'm practically not even a teenager any more!
Which is to say, I wish they'd make up their minds about whether I should be doing all this college stuff on my own or whether they're going to do it for me. Because honestly, as long as I think I'm not going to have to do it for myself, I'm going to go all procrastinationey and/or passive-aggressive and not do it for myself. If this keeps up, I might end up pulling a Prodigal Daughter on them =_= *sigh* It's not to that point yet, thank goodness, but I could really use some solid standards here. And I should probably tell my dad that I thought about it, and really, I actually don't want to take Japanese through the University. I'll just get my language stuff taken care of through Kirkwood like the rest of my stuff, thanks very much.
Notes to self:
1) Start cleaning room. It'll help you decide what to keep, and sooner or later, everything will end up in boxes anyway; this will just make it easier.
2) Get a job and put the money in the bank. You can spare a little for manga on the side, but most of that is going away for the essentials: insurance, nest egg, etc.
3) ....Start looking into housing prices. Because it's going to be damned expensive, but if you look right when everyone from the University is leaving, you might get a better price/actually find something.
4) See about signing over things like insurance and bank accounts to self instead of parents. I'm starting to think they're as ready for me to stretch my wings as I am. Which reminds me...
5) Don't leave forever. Come back and visit frequently (esp. little bro) when you're settled down, but don't let them control your life. It's yours, after all.

Went to the bookstore and spoiled myself today ^___^ Bought Fruits Basket vol 9 (Eeeee! The hat story! Hana-chan backstory! Kureno! Rin! (Ooo, skin...) Student Council Members! <3), my own copy of FMA manga vol 1 (so I don't have to steal Pat's ^^;), and Tokyo Mew Mew vol 7 (...don't give me that look. I like Mahou Shoujo. I practically don't even need Yuri Goggles for most of it).
Am overrun with Sin!love.I've got Lust!lust :D! Because looking back? They're really damn cool characters <3 Maybe I should go to Anime Iowa as Lust instead of Izumi-sensei... I mean, I definately wouldn't have a problem finding a black character-compatable costume for Sunday that way... But I'm still not dressing the iguana up as Gluttony, even if I do that.
Wove myself a flower crown this afternoon ^_^ Looks really good, too. I used to just clover/daisy-chain, but now I french braid flowers <3 It looks much better this way, methinks.
Have discovered that I am more fascinated by mass killers than serial killers. Our teacher told us about this guy who killed his whole family, and was going to put a gun to his own head, but then decided not to and ran off. He figured the police were going to catch him any moment after that, so he hopped towns and started working as a cook under a different name. Twenty years later, the cops finally tracked him down, and he says to them, "What took you so long?" ^^;
(It was at this point that I decided that I have been reading way too much Naruto!fic. Especially since I've been reading spoilers for five years or so. Still, it does give one an appreciation for genius. ...Writing genius, I mean, though one might also gain an appreciation for the evil sort.)
...I totally need Momiji mood icons.What else am I supposed to use as plot bunnies?
