High winds at the department store

I feel no guilt what-so-ever about spammin f'lists at the moment, as it is now Friday! Hooray! ...Sorta.

Anyway, for those of you who are actually aware of where I live and what's going on in the area, I'm perfectly safe. I'm unharmed, my family is fine, the house is... fine, I think; it's dark and I haven't had a chance to look. The car is (more or less) fine. Wal-Mart is... less fine, but relatively easily salvageable, I think.

Anyway, that's the story. Though after something like that happening, a day off on Friday--er, today--seems a bit cheap almost.

Yet more RL stuff

For those of you who haven't heard or just skipped my last post due to length, I was stuck in a Wal-Mart for two hours last night while a tornado went literally right over my head. Please forgive me if I'm a little... abrasive for the next few days, as I seem to have gotten it into my head that this can excuse just about anything until Monday-ish :P

Am half contemplating going downtown this afternoon to check out the damage first hand. (Pat has some pictures up here, but it's not quite the same, yanno?) Giving myself excuses along the lines of "Well, it is the last Friday of Lent, why not get some fish from J's Fish and Chips to celebrate?" It doesn't help that I don't usually pay attention to 'real' news sources--I tend to prefer The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Bah.

Oh! Mom just had her last bout of reconstructive surgery today. It went well, and she and Dad arrived home a short while ago :3 Dad brought newspapers with him. On the cover of one of them was a picture of St. Patrick's with half the roof blown off :O I guess we won't be spending Easter there. (I'd feel more sad about this if it weren't for out priest, who we may have to deal with anyway :/) On the plus side, I may yet have the chance to use my late grandfather's argument-winning quote: "We built this church, we can build another one!"

...I should probably get to the Yuri Exchange stuff soon. Like, today. Watch as I don't do it and use "I was just in a tornado!" as an excuse! :D *shot*
