Interrobang

I just came up with the best superhero concept:

A person who causes explosions every time they ask a question.

The best part? They come with a ready-made superhero identity and symbol: Interrobang!

(Technically, I started with "interrobang" and worked backwards, but it's cooler to explain the other way 'round.)

The downsides: I'm not sure how Interrobang could control the explosions, so they would only happen where they wanted them to. Possibly by asking a question specifically involving the thing(s) they wanted to combust? And then explosions would be random if the question doesn't have a subject or object, or the subject/object is larger than a certain size? (Examples: "Why?" and "What on earth is going on?") Also, there's the thing with speech patterns. While I imagine they could adapt their speech patterns fairly well, it's also a pretty obvious clue to their secret identity.

I really love the concept, though. Not least because it's downright hilarious.

Attention all writers!

[Content Note: abduction, terrorism, human trafficking, privilege, oppression]

To my writing-inclined friends: This is suuuuuper short notice, since the deadline is May 15, but Fey Publishing and Solarwyrm Press are seeking submissions for an anthology to honor the over 200 girls who were kidnapped in Nigeria on April 14. Stories should be between 1,500 and 5,000 words; proceeds will go to the Not For Sale Campaign, "an organization that seeks to uncover and put a stop to human trafficking and slavery of all kinds."

I can't tell if authors get any money from this, but if you've got a story in mind and are charitably inclined, you can learn more details here.
