Yet more costume plans
It is my opinion that one can never start planning for the next year's cosplay too early. I swore this year that next year I would be going as someone from Bleach, and nothing, but nothing, will deter me. I had planned to go this year as Ise Nanao from Bleach (vice-captain of the eight division, wears glasses, dark hair--I like to work with what I've got ^_~ I would've liked to be Yoruichi as well, but I'm neither tan enough nor well enough endowed, and I'm much too tall to be Soi Fong) but my plans were... pre-empted by FMA cosplay ideas. And the fact that I finally managed to drag my girlfriend into the fandom earlier in the year, so she was really eager to dress as one of her favorites. And then I came up with the skit idea, and other people wanted to cosplay, and we saw how Greed-y good
think_tomorrow looked in sunglasses and a furry vest, and... anyway, as you can see, my plans went a bit awry. (I did spot an Ichigo and an Anti/Hollow!Ichigo wandering around together at the con, though ^___^ It made me quite happy. There was also an Itachi and, I'm informed, a Neji, but I didn't manage to get them together for a photo shoot, which made me sad ;_; There was also a Rukia who looked a bit more like Hanataro, though she didn't know who he was ^_^; In my defence, her hair was a bit too short to be Rukia's, though she was flat skinny enough to pull that aspect off nicely. And her personality just screamed 'Hanataro' at me. She held my handkerchief for me while I was on stage so I would have something ready to wipe the fake blood onto when I exited ^___^ Thank you so much, random Rukia player and friend! I won't forget you! ...And why am I finally talking about the con now, anyway? Ah, well ♥)
Anyway, since my plans to cosplay a Bleach character went down the tubes this year, I swore that next year they would not be detered! Even if I come up with a good skit idea for another series! (That whole 'Edward, I am your brother!' thing that we improvved backstage was a hoot ^_^ Might work, too, if Pat keeps her costume. It helps that CN has finally started airing the second season of FMA 9_9 We'd just need an Ed (again) and/or an Al. And a complete script. And--ah, ta hell wit' it.) This is at least partially supported by the Cosplay sign-up person telling us that next year it might be against the rules to cosplay in our hallway costumes, so it's pretty much win-win for me. (Actually, Pat mentioned wanting a year off from being in the actual show, and I don't particularly blame her. It's the pits when we can't actually see the rest of the skits ;_; The one with Hughes would've been funny as hell. He was a damn good Hughes, too, I'll have you know. Even had the right face shape and carried around pictures and everything. I'll look up pictures sometime. I believe I heard plans that next year he'll be coming with angel wings and halo ^___^ (Aaargh, I'm sorry, neat cosplay people whom I spoke to backstage! ;_; Pat left the booklet she kept your LJ usernames in at the hotel and I didn't get them, so I'm probably going to have to wait to speak with most of you again until next year T-T))
Now what was I going to talk about again? Oh, yeah...
My current cosplay plans involve me dressing up as Human!Zangetsu and coercing Pat (somehow) into playing Human!Zabimaru ^___^ Edit: Make that SexChange!Human!Zabimaru. I can't always read these things before hand, I'm afraid ;_; [/Edit] Ladies and gents, trust me, this does work with what we have. I'm tall, skinny and flat, Pat's average-height and full-figured.Plus, it's a great crack pairing. Or heck, just great crack in general. And let's face it, their wielders are damn hot! It does call for me actually learning to work with fur 9_9; and drawing a beard on my own face, but it'll be worth it! *determined pose* It would look so cool, I know it would! And practically no-one would recognize Pat's costume (which would either be a plus or a minus, I'm not sure which--it would be a plus for me, I think, because I really value the uber-geeks who can recognize the obscure stuff ♥, but I'm not sure about Pat, so), but it would be worth it! Er, I think. And besides, they said, dammit! They said they'd try and accomidate me next time, and next time I want to do Bleach! D:
...Er. *cough* Ahem. Pardon me. Just got a bit over-excited there.
That's my current cosplay plans for next year. Hallowe'en, though, I'm going Zombie ^___^ I used to have this orange lipstick that would work wonderfully for this, you know. I don't think I still have it, but I can poke around. And I can resort to flour for my palor and use eyeshadow for bruises and what-have-you, and I still have plenty of leftover fake blood. Not to mention that old dress that Dad picked up at a garage sale a while backthat I've still yet to try on. Mark, my employer, mentioned (a really non-PC) costume idea the other day, too; his idea was to wear regular clothing, Mardi Gras beads and then soak everything from the waist down in mud. ...Tempting though it is, I think I'll be skipping that particular costume ^^;
