...Okay no, not really, but I am planning to copy the pages and save them so, when the article dies (which I assume it will), I will still have working records of it. Also, total of 27 marriage licenses issued before the ruling was. Overturned? Overruled? Just... read it yourself or something. Also, if we don't have coverage on the Colbert Report to the effect of my first line up there, I will be a sad puppy. ("I told you, Nation, that accepting equal rights for gay and lesbian individuals could only lead to ruin! And now the undead are out there, marching the streets of Iowa, spreading their filthy zombie virus to hoards of innocent pig farmers! You should be ashamed of yourself." DO YOU SEE HOW AWESOME IT WOULD BE. DO YOU.) Though, you know, coverage at all would be cool too. Which I'm kinda expecting actually, what with the hugeness of the issue.

In other news, I'm currently working on new Lurker Day banners, and hope to have some done and up by the end of the day. Spammage ahoy!

I know. This whole thing is ridiculous. And it brings to mind fifty years ago, when people were saying the same thing about interracial marriages. "It disrupts society! It's a shame to the traditional family!" That's an actual argument I saw, which makes me wonder...what's the traditional family, exactly? Mom, Dad, two kids? Then what about all those single-parent families? Older siblings who take in their younger siblings? Anything like that?

I sort of hope I have lurkers because it makes me happy XD But it won't break my heart if I don't ^_^ But I'll love having a banner either way!

Exactly! And then there was this awesome cartoon in the comics a number of months back pointing out that people are acting towards GLBT people now the way they used to act towards left-handed people in the 1500s, which I thought was awesome.
Clearly they need to test each heterosexual marriage partner for fertility, inject a chemical that would keep them from being attracted to anyone else until their partner dies, stick an outside age limit for the sake of childbearing, and put heavy fines on spousal groups until the point they produce at least one child; that'll fix everything!

I've only had a few delurk, but it was all butterflies-in-the-stomach all the same ^^ ♥ Here's hoping! And calling it done for now at six banners, though I might have more tomorrow.

Man, I wish I could've seen that! But actually, there was a bill introduced to Congress that said any marriage that did not produce children after three years would be nullified. It was struck down as ridiculous, but then the GLBT groups were pointing out that they had just killed one of their big arguments against same-sex marriages, being that said unions do not result in children. I thought that was brilliant!

I agree--it's always exciting to see a new username appear on the comment alert and then they say "I lurk here!" *squees quietly* Once the banners are posted, I will lovingly gank one for my own personal use *cheers*
