>_>

I just got three middling-to-difficult questions at [personal profile] hooked_on_anime. Two of them were for some of PegaCid's accessories, and one of them was for how to make holes in pony legs and wings as seen on (in?) Queen Chrysalis (SPOILERS for S2 finale). And I just.

Okay, I've made holes in things before. I've made holes that go through 3D objects before. But part of the reason I haven't publicly shared the patterns for pony accessories or Karkat (with retrievable arms) is because trying to explain how the holes work is hellaciously difficult. I mean, the single hole I need for a Klein Bottle is relatively simple, but even that gives me a bit of a headache thinking about trying to explain.

At this rate, I'm tempted to just make a SPECIAL TECHNIQUE!!1!eleventy! post describing how I make holes in things and then letting it go forever, but A) I know that wouldn't work; I'd still end up with a dozen questions or more within two years, and B) I just plain don't have the time or energy at the moment. If I am going to do crochet related stuff on the computer right now, it should be typing up patterns to sell, or, failing that, at least getting a new free pattern ready for HoA. In the mean time, I still get regular questions on the MLP:FIM pattern, and I am just. Abgjlwersd.

If HoA wasn't at least partially about customer service, I'd probably throw my hands up and say to hell with it all. And yet not only am I still doing it, I'm doing it for free! I haven't gotten a donation in ages...

I'm thinking it's time to add a note to the end of all my patterns, pointing out that I really do work hard to provide these things and answer questions at absolutely no charge, and if you appreciate it and have the means here's a suggested donation you could make to show said appreciation.
