Woke up this morning to realize that what I'd thought yesterday was possibly a sinus headache or a weather headache was actually building up to a cluster headache, so that was fun! They've been threatening occasionally since shortly after I learned the name for them [Content Note: self-harm reference at link], after a good seven-ish years without, so I may be entering a new "cluster". I'll be keeping track of it, since this morning didn't at the time seem quite as bad as the headaches that had Past Me making gruesome comparisons, but I also spent most of it laying down in the dark and waiting for it to go away, and the level of relief I felt when it finally did was, uh. Well, it was startling, to say the least.

In other news, I've got some heavier-than-usual mid-month spotting going on; I'm guessing it's related to me having only just started hormonal birth control on my most recent period, and am sincerely hoping it settles within a few months. Either way, I'll be talking to my doctor in a few months about what's going on.

...Shit. It just occurred to me that these two things might be related. I need to do some research.

Good news! My headache was probably not caused by a blood clot, which was my primary worry. Migraines do seem to be linked to increased hormones, though, and given the lengthy lead-up this morning's headache got, I'm not ruling out "Oh wait, I actually do have migraines, and/or my cluster headaches mutated into migraines" as an option. Which is still better than blood clots.
