1) I'm a bit worried about making same color + skill too powerful, to be honest. I don't want to double it, but maybe +2 or +3 would work?
(Brief diversion: I now realize that I haven't accounted for when to add the skill bonus, which might help balance some. Like, if the obstacle is Green 8, and someone has a Green 3, doing (3 + 1) x 2 is different from 3 x 2 + 1. One of those is a total success, the other one is a failure.)
2) I'm going in mental circles with this one; are you talking about changing what the "actions" are called (to, say, problem-solving approaches), or changing what the "actions" are? I'm down to brainstorm either, but it'd probably be better if I know which one it is first, especially since I find one of those more difficult than the other.
(LOL, my go-to mental example was "There's a brick wall. What do?" Talking to a brick wall isn't usually very useful, and they're kinda hard to trade with, so you basically have to assume that there's a gate with a sentry or something that the players can approach, or things fall apart. I'm on board for possible disadvantageous/"bad idea" actions, though! Including a -1 penalty for using aggression on a trap, as you mentioned, or something.)
