I have not updated this journal in almost a week and I feel no remorse! Okay, maybe a little.
The downstairs bathroom is being re-painted just now, so I have to go upstairs to take a shower. Toilet's still okay to use, though, which is something of a relief.
Just tried making the Sluggy Snowball Cookies today, and they are fine and tasty, even if they do get powdered sugar absolutely everywhere. Half of the batch is made sans nuts to appease my brother.
I had a very jolly holiday indeed, I must admit ^_^ (I am one of those who celebrates Christmas, FYI.) I got a squirrel baffle for Dad and Thud and Where's My Cow for Tomas (both by Terry Pratchett); they were well recieved. I did an 'oops' thing and forgot to get something for Mom -_-a but Dad got her what I would've gotten her anyway, and I made her chocolate covered cherry mouse things on Christmas Eve, so I think that makes up for it. Mom is a big chocolate covered cherry fan. I got:
* Naruto 4-8, which (I believe) brings me up-to-date with the US translated volumes
* How to Draw Manga: Bodies and Anatomy
* A light table ♥
* CLAMP School Detectives volume 1
* A "Christmas Story" T-shirt with 'You'll shoot your eye out' in fancy letters and what's-his-face on the front with broken glasses (I hate the movie but love the shirt)
* Chocolate ♥
* An absolutely wonderful taste of Danish culture from Mistress of Foxes. (I loved it very much; the candy was delicious, the hearts are fun to make, and the elves have taken up residence around the basement ♥ Expect something nice from me to kick in within the next week ^.^v Also expect a Thank-You note sometime in the near future, though that may take longer 9_9a)
* Sushi erasers and magnets
* Fun Zone miscelanea
Tomas and I also had the wonderful experience of learning how to cook a turkey =_= It was 20 lbs and free-range from a friend's farm. It was also their smallest bird this year. I mostly learned for the sake of learning, since I'm really not much of a turkey person.
Started on New Year's gifts yesterday, which is better than last year when I put things off until the night of. I think I'm probably not going to play the guessing game with most of you this year, so if you haven't requested something or I haven't promised something be sure to hop on down and ask. Otherwise you'll just be stuck with the generic gifts (which go to lurkers and non-askers and non-designatees).
I would also like to argue that archery is one of the slashiest sports in existence. No, really. It gives swordsmanship a run for its money, man. I'm actually tempted to write a Donuts fic to this effect, but the plunny I have for it is threatening to turn into pr0n and I think I already have enough of those lined up.
Edit: OMG, Mangaviewer has updated the Detective Conan section to include the rest of the Kid heist from book 44! :O ...Though it is now slightly redundant. Shit, they're into book fifty! Book fifty-one, even!
Truly it has been a good week for Detective Conan fans.

Had a bit of trouble with finding things for both you and Envy without giving you the same things ^.^;a
But I'm glad to know that spending weeks finding the perfect gifts and still having them completely Danish did pay of in the end ^.^
