Evil snow. Evil.

That? That out there on the sidewalk? It's not regular snow. It's not even regular ice. It's demon snow. That's right, folks, that out there is genuine frozen tears, straight from the ninth level of hell.

And after a good forty-five minutes, it's still not completely off the sidewalk. I have a twenty-foot strip that's only got a single shovel's width removed. Which isn't really that much of the sidewalk, but let's face it, the concrete underneath the snow-ice isn't that much more walkable. I'd almost argue that it's more slippery, in fact. At least the snow-ice is slightly bumpy. The concrete is smoothed over.

Taking a break after far too long in the cold to thaw out. You know it's getting bad when your legs start to feel funny. Hands didn't really have that problem after I switched to mittens some ten minutes into shoveling. In fact, I ended up taking off my mittens at least four times and rubbing my palms in the snow-ice to cool them off. Go figure.

Now that that's written, I think I'll thaw out for a few more minutes, then go attack the snow-ice on the sidewalk again. Need it all gone so the city doesn't shovel it for us at our expense. That would be mighty crappy for the little that's left there. Ciao!

(P.S. Was really going to do that religious entry earlier today, but then discovered that I'm crap at it. I may still do a religious/spiritual post, but most of it will probably just be me transcribing bits and pieces of Paulo Coelho's work ^^a As far as I can tell, religion is two parts suspension of disbelief, two parts social interaction, and ten parts saying everyone else is wrong. I mostly focus on the first four parts, I think, with an extra one part computer repair.)

Edit: (Ten minutes later) What's that you say, legs? You don't feel like moving? And respitory system, you agree? Well, shit. I guess we'll have to camp out here for a while longer. Please don't let it be the whole night.)

Yeah, that stuff was no fun at all. I spent two hours at our driveway and it's only like half done. I bet you didn't think, "hey, am I an elf, 'cus I'm walking on snow and not sinking in," but I'm a nerd and did think that.
Oh and on the not moving around point, are you interested in coming to Pink Panther with Pat and me?

This evil precipitation demands that you talk some breadwinner into buying a snowblower. These frozen devils' tears wickedly sneer at your poor shovel. I recently (a couple of months ago) for the first time purchased a snow blower and was skeptical today about its ability to handle this stuff. Yowsa! It just chomped right through these dippin' dots from hell. Just thought I'd mention it...

I tried ours but it just slid accross the top of this crap. My neighbor had more luck, but still took like 4 passes to get all of it off.

Maybe Consumer Reports has some idea of what they speak... I selected their top rated single stage snow blower. It did a fine job.

It was cold and icky...on the plus side, didn't have my early class because of it. But it was still freakin' cold and it got blown down my jacket...*kills snow repeatedly*
