PSA and Con Report
Back from Anime Iowa ^_^ Had a great time. Will tell everyone about it shortly.
But first a quick announcement. My home computer access has been cut off. I'll be stuck posting and reading from the library for a while--though once school starts, I'll probably be setting up camp in the building's computer labs. On the plus side, this should help me get into shape again (which the con helped convince me of even more than recent blood donation trips--not being able to walk up twelve flights of stairs without a restunlike my friends kinda drove the message home). It should also help in making me get a job, so I can pay for my own access... and modem, and router. I was going to start right away, because going cold turkey for an internet junkie to the extent that I am is not really a good idea. (I was going to avoid the library, too, but quickly decided otherwise.) Then I took a look at my bank account, and changed my mind. I'm going to need that money to buy books by the 22nd, especially if Mom and Dad don't reimburse me for 'em like last spring.
Will mostly be going around today trying to catch up with my friends list (though probably skipping most of the CFUD stuff until tomorrow) and saving fanfic to read at home (thank God I found my flash disc, is all I'm saying). I'll probably try to tackle what amounts to five days of absence at CFUD tomorrow or something.
And now, the con report.
* The company was good, the activities were fun, and I managed to get a little sleep (ten to twelve hours, total) and eat every day. Go me!
* I also managed to spend all my money. It went to: food the first day, Bleach plushies (Hitsugaya! Yoruichi! EEEE! (But they were out of Gin, and there's still no Orihime DD: They're so going to wait on her until they finish with the SS charas, I just know it)), tip for the maids, pre-reg for next year (Super Early Bird Special, $25.00!!1!), and inside-out pocky. I wanted a Ramune, but there was none left by the time I went to buy one ;_;
* I was reminded why I like to cosplay. Not just for the pride that goes into making a costume and making it well (though I probably fail at that, as compared to some of the other people in Pat's room), but for the recognition involved. I mean, if you go in a costume, you are guaranteed to be able to bond with anyone who recognizes and likes that character. Especially if you do it well.
* I did not, as expected, run into any CFUD fans. Or if I did, they didn't notice/recognize my T-shirts or didn't speak up. I am teh sad ;_; I am all the more determined, however, to go to a larger con now so I can meet some (more) of them. On ten minute meeting with Excel-mun last year was not enough!
* ...Wow, hey, being hit on by guys totally freaks me out. I'm going to wear a costume next year so I can at least pretend it's cuz they like the character.
* Speaking of being hit on by guys, if they do the "How To Talk To Girls" thing again next year? I am so going to stand up and tell people not to be intimidated by tall girls. Because I didn't this year and regret it. I mean, I may be freaked out, but I'm sure there's plenty of tall girls who are sick and tired of being ignored.
* I'm sure I had more, but I don't remember it? I didn't really do a lot that didn't involve walking around with people who were staying in the room.
Anyway, off to save stories I go.

*crawls over to corner for further pouting* Perhaps next year, I will be able to gather a couple friends and go as well...that would be most awesome =D

I hope so! :O It'll be in Coralville next year, at the new convention center, from August 10 - 12. I'll try and get a room so you can have a place to stay, but I make no promises at the moment.
We'll meet someday, I know it!

*strikes victory pose* We will! And then you'll probably think I'm a total freak in person >_< *tends to babble when nervous or excited*

Not that I don't want the job, I'm just terrified of everything.Anyway, Coralville is right next to Iowa City, and debates rage as to which one is actually eating the other.XD Okay, that might be true, but I'll be thinking it in the best possible way, I assure you.

Anyway, my planned speech goes like this: "Guys, don't be intimidated by tall people. We aren't mean, or scary, and even if our heads are really far off the ground, it just means we're used to bending over. Besides, it's the short ones you really have to watch out for."
