SOCCHAN: Well, that could've gone better.

Long story short, this week has had more ups and downs (mostly emotional) than I would like to think about ¦D Not quite as bad as a shoujo manga yet, but still in Not-Funsville, one of the largest cities in Complicated Land. Today, I lost my car key and missed my second French class of the semester - which might not be too bad, seeing as I may not actually be signed up for it, through some sort of screw-up. Still, it's one of my favorite classes, so if I can't take it, I'll be sad. I still don't know what my grades were at the end of last semester, due partly to laziness and partly to not remembering my &^%*)) student ID number. (Password? Fine. Memorized. ID number? Outta here.) The rats are doing okay, I think, though I need to figure out what to do about the squeeky roden wheel; it's keeping me awake. Also, Arthur is an attention whore. No, really.

Thankfully, daydreaming about a "one day" manga is keeping me relatively sane. (That, and the occasional dose of CFUD.) It's going to have cross-dressing and a band and bad puns. And also trampled clichés, because I'm like that. And I'm not entirely sure what else, but someday I'll find out.

Anyway, please excuse today's brief lapse into being bitchy/complainey/mopey. I try not to do it often, even with the whole "It's your journal, you can write what you want" argument; frankly, dwelling doesn't usually help my mood much, and I'm usually bored by my own bitching. That said, my time today is running low, so anyone who could provide me with sanity savers (links, book/author recs, the works) for tomorrow? I'd be forever indebted and all that.

I like the Ukiah Oregon series by Wen Spencer, which is modern urban SF but ackshuny. Also good is her genderbent Cinderella story, A Brother's Price.

If you can find copies of elsewhere and Nevernever, I do recommend them. Urban fantasy. Kinda rare, now.

...also, Horatio Hornbower: Midship Wizard is a cute book.

Are you reading Shonnen Daily? If you go back in the tags, there's some awesome series.

*huggles* How's the Tanya Huff book-hunt going? Also, I am on the last page of the four-page Tentacular thing I showed you when we met. Well, without shading, which I'm kinda iffy about whether or not I want to tackle that all....

And ditto on the kind of book recs question.
