Movies and stuff

Wow, hey, let's pretend it's been less time since I last updated, okay? At least it's not a week.

I went to see Coraline today! It was absolutely full of awesome, and I plan to spend some of my still unused iTunes gift certificate money on the soundtrack ♥ (Here's the part where I do that Unpopular Opinion thing that I do sometimes, so you have been warned: I don't care much for Neil Gaiman's work on its own. When it's in conjunction with art or another writer (see: Good Omens), I've thus far loved it to bits. When it's just him writing, I just don't connect with it very well, I guess. I don't know why it is, I just know it is. And that's my Unpopular Opinion for today.) I'd also like to say that it was much creepier than I thought it would be for some reason, probably because of my aforementioned Unpopular Opinion. GO SEE IT GUYS, IT IS MADE OF WIN.

While at the mall, I picked up copies of Tin Man (which I've been meaning to get for a while, made of lamentable awesome that it is) and also Hayate X Blade volume two (which is out! \o\). I hope to delve into the latter before I sleep tonight. As to the former - who knows? Maybe while I do laundry tomorrow or something.

Still kinda wanna see Hotel For Dogs, because while it's definitely an inaccurate portrayal of what happens when you take a bunch of stray dogs in off the street and put them in a building together with no regard for individual personalities/needs/whatever (I've seen too much Animal Cops and the like - it's an addiction), it does look cute. It also appears to be at New Strand this week, so I might be able to go see it for much cheaper than the standard movie fare ♥

I also rather wanna see Slumdog Millionaire, because, well. I read the synopsis out of curiosity due to Airbender casting (gah) and it seems interesting and like a good excuse to familiarize myself with Patel's work, so. No more excuse needed, methinks.

Scribbles to go up on my Inksome at some point in the future, including a couple of seal-ish mermaids (which I think of as selkies, even though it's really not accurate, I'm sure) with more realistic body-types than one usually sees on females in the media these days. Current misinterpretations of BMI can bite my (reportedly well shaped) ass, and chew on my extra for dessert.

Slumdog Millionaire is a fantastic movie, you should definitely go see it. Just be warned that it's a bit confronting especially in the beginning. It's a fairytale at heart but it manages to do that while not pulling any punches about what growing up an orphan in India is like...

...pertaining to you Unpopular Opinion (and concerning Good Omens), that's exactly how I feel about Terry Pratchett.

U-Unpopular Opinions unite??

Haha, I'm the opposite of your Unpopular Opinion. I eat up all of Gaiman's works, the only one I haven't managed to get through is Good Omens.

Damn, for once, I'm on the popular side...^^;
Oh well, I don't care if my opinions are popular or not, so I would still throw (metaphorical)tomato at you... Xp XD;
Hmmm...For Coraline, I've adored the book, but don't care much for the movie.
