Walks and plotting
Me: I need a throwaway villain for HimMeYouHer. I mean, I could just write around the Villain of the Day, but I don't think that's what this fic needs.
Brain: Okay, here's an idea for a completely developed VotD with an interesting backstory that will definitely make this part of the fic at least a thousand words longer. It would also necessitate you include a detailed fighting scene, so make that two thousand words longer.
Me: ...You know what, you're right; writing around the VotD would totally work better after all.
(I'm definitely going to have to find a way to use this one, though, since she's basically a blatant self-insert. Right down to the name. Not sure when or how it's gonna happen, but I'll find a way. She's too good not to use, especially if I'm really committing to this whole Write Self-Indulgently thing.)

In other news, I went for a long walk by the river today, mostly to catch Pokemon :P A pair of bald eagles set up a nest on this particular route last year, and it looks like they've returned to re-use it! I got pictures with my phone camera, which is nowhere near as good as my ten-plus-years-old non-phone camera, but it's what I had with me, so. *shrugs* I'm pretty sure I also heard some eagles calling towards the beginning of my walk; it's such a pretty, flute-y sound. I mean, I guess I get why media stuff tends to steal the red tailed hawk's cry for eagles, but their actual cries are nothing to turn one's beak up at, IMO.

I got out there again today! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find my camera, though at least the lighting was better for my crappy phone pics.
