Started watching the new She-Ra last night. And on the one hand, it is exactly what I need right now in terms of tone and storytelling, even if I only have access to the first season at the moment; but on the other hand, the inconsistent placement of Catra's tail is like a papercut in my mind. Because sometimes it's good, it looks like it's exactly where it should be to make biological sense for someone with a humanoid body plan to have a tail, but other times? Frequently when Catra is shown from behind? It looks like she's wearing a tail buttplug.

I had really hoped it was an animation error in a single episode when I saw a screencap of that, but that appears not to be the case. Catra, I am so, so sorry. You do not deserve to have your tail coming out of your butt.

She-Ra's a really great show, but animation-wise... well, my other favored animated shows are Avatar and descendants, so it's kind of an unfair comparison. It's not top-tier animation, is my point.

It is very gay though.

As far as 2D animation goes, I've mostly been subsiding on Flash-based nonsense and crap, so She-Ra's still doing okay in my book, occasional anatomy cringy-ness aside. Also some lower-tier anime lately, since I'm taking the opportunity to at least try to make a scratch in my DVD collection. Hell, even good anime has its not-infrequent moments.

Anyway, Scorpia is my current favorite. Soft/Femme Tanks are probably not my biggest weakness, but they are way up the list.

She-Ra is probably one of the best comfort shows right now, but that's pretty fair on Catra's tail. I know the shadin over the nose and under the eyes on the characters faces took be a bit to get use to.

Scorpia is a treasure and only deserves nice things!

Urrrrgh, I just wish that Netflix would put out a proper DVD set for it! Apparently they released a DVD set of the first three seasons a while back, but it's no longer available most places? Anyway, thevault only has the first season uploaded, and my piracy skills are rusty ☹
