Crit Fail on Executive Function
Me: Okay, today's the day! [Person's name] emailed me a week ago about needing a restock on ear- and hijab-savers, and I have today off; I've already done my obligatory fancy cooking for today, I've had a nap, and I know for a fact that I have plenty of buttons and also ribbons that have been cut to size and had their ends sealed. I. Am. Ready!
Brain: Hey, you know what would be a cute idea for stocking stuffers for your family this year? Especially since we're having a surprise guest that we initially didn't plan for? Plush lumps of coal 😃 That are on fire 😃
Me: ...Motivation to make savers... fading... failing... gone ðŸ˜
I managed to talk myself out of making the stocking stuffers and into a different project; Mom asked me to make her some masks out of some scrap fabric, and I wrangled three out of it (with a different background color), so at least I did something sort-of adjacent to what I meant to work on, and also knocked out something that was actually a request, so. That's something. And now I won't have to do that on my next day off, so I can probably motivate myself to do the ear- and hijab-savers then, or even tomorrow depending, and then maybe I can think about adorable amigurumi coal after that. Hopefully. Fingers crossed I can make it work. Maybe if I distract myself with some cute buttons...
