reading your last post about this made me so upset on behalf of you and all the congoers. you are right to be upset about the decision and about the way it was rolled out. hoping things get better for you
Thank you ♥ I'm hoping that my former staff colleague, who was unable to help only because he's camping but is equally outraged, will make better inroads than I did, but I am not holding my breath (the way I would be at the convention because of the lack of mask mandate).
Thank you; I wish they did, but at least now I can devote my full energy to projects that do deserve me.
And maybe in a few years, things will have changed enough that I'll feel comfortable going back. I'm not holding my breath, though; I think I may have burned some bridges on the way out...
Thank you. I'm hoping that I can redirect my convention support energy to WisCon, which went about as far above and beyond as possible in Covid prevention while still holding an even partly in-person con. I'm reasonably sure they'll be happy to keep me on board.
Good interaction from work today, though! I told one of the main restaurant staff that I was bummed because I left a volunteer organization I'd been working with for 14 years, and she said, "Oh, I'm sorry..." (Pause for dramatic effect) "...that you were stuck with them for so long!" Gave me a good bit of levity to start my work day and bled off a little more poison.
