The flash and/or my computer crapped out on me at significant parts: the animation froze on me quite often, frequently for seconds at a time, and once for more than half a minute. Judging by various comments, I did indeed miss out on some spectacular stuff!

This is making me want to smash something, and, I'm ashamed to say, I am literally near tears. Goddammit Hussie, I should not be this fucking invested in a webcomic >:E

An attempt to console myself by gushing over my incredibly adorable new Marceline doll forthcoming. And possibly also ami pics.

Attempt number two on my home comp ended in frustration, so I guess I'm going to explore a few other options and see what happens. Good luck on getting your fix!

It loaded instantly on my work computer at lunch today.

It's like 13 minutes long.

I just gave the download another try, this time on Media Player Classic (which had good results with the Squiddles flash, actually); the results were about the same. My next attempt will involve an alternate download, in case my first one was screwed up somehow, and loading a piece at a time instead of all at once.

See, the length just means I'm missing more. Though I 100% get why it took so long to make.

I actually was using the version from MU, so uh. I'm not sure if that's going to help :/ I guess I could try the MF version, and then if that still doesn't work, I could see if one of the livestreams is still going?

It wouldn't play at all on my computer, from the mirrors or from the direct download. But someone uploaded it to youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Mldr4sSV4s) (if you're still looking for an alternate source). I only got through the first three minutes of it before I had to leave for work this morning, which made me antsy all day. (Apparently I am way too invested, too. (-;) And now I'm still trying to parse together exactly everything that just happened.

Hot damn, I may give that a try! For completions' sake, if nothing else. (Sorry, AH, I know you didn't want anyone uploading it to YouTube for the sake of quality, but it's the only option available at the moment for some of us.)

I'm usually completely hopeless at parsing together anything that's happened without the aid of one of those summaries. I was a bit disappointed to go without one this time, though I do understand why.

I think you'd be forgiven for having to resort to youtube. Desperate times and all. (-: I finally got the real flash to (mostly) work on my netbook (which is actually less powerful than my proper computer, go figure), and the difference in quality is pretty huge (and pretty awesome). But at the same time... it's the content that matters most on the first watch. The intense staring and detail nitpicking can happen in rewatches... once we all have better computers?

I've gotten really used to not understanding anything on the first watch/read (though I've gotten better since my last re-read). AH's tumblr posts over the last day or so have also been super-helpful, though, since apparently some things happened in an order I didn't think they happened in. (There's always something... darn non-linear time.) I wonder if we'll get an old-fashioned recap before Act 6 starts, or if the tumblr summary of what we just saw will stand as the only insight.

Yes, that exactly! I mean, I love drooling over details as much as the next fan, but mostly I WANT TO KNOW WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED. Pretty can wait! Plot is for now!

My money's on the Tumblr post being the best we're gonna get. He had a really clear line-up for a recap going in the strips leading up to 6000, and then pretty blatantly didn't take it while telling us to re-read everything instead. Again, I don't blame him for not wanting to sum everything up for us again! It takes a long enough time just to read those that I can't imagine how headache-inducing it would be to write them. It's just frustrating to know that I don't understand everything that's going on, and that getting a better understanding is still a long ways off for me.

(I actually didn't know there was an informative Tumblr post! Would you possibly mind linking me directly to it? I've been avoiding his Tumblr accounts since "Why Kanaya ;_;" due to not wanting to go into a destructive hate spiral and end up rage-quitting, but sometimes there's relevant stuff. Asking people for direct links is how I attempt to still get the important stuff while skipping the rage dumps.)

I honestly used to skip the recaps, just because they were so long. The recap length for Act 5 would've been... massive. I can totally excuse him for skipping it. (Though I'm going to pretend not to. Lazy, AH!) I'm just disappointed because I only just recently realized how useful the recaps had been. (-;
