Guess who has a stomach bug? That's right, it's me!
I've been having some digestive troubles, and I know it's illegal for someone with such problems to prepare or serve food professionally, so, after taking a Covid test (it was negative), I went to the local quick care center for a diagnosis and advice. There, I got a flu test, which also came back negative, and was advised that it's probably a viral stomach bug, and that I can go to work after I've been symptom-free for 24 hours. I emailed my boss to let her know, since I'm scheduled the day after tomorrow, and have a doctor's note Just In Case.
After that, I went and picked up some Gatorade, then went home. I plan to spend at least the remainder of today resting and pushing fluids, and probably doing the same tomorrow. I emailed my boss to let her know, since I'm scheduled next on Sunday, and if I'm not symptom-free tomorrow, she'll have to find someone else to cover for me. She told me to keep her updated.
So that's the plan for the next couple of days! Fingers crossed this gets out of my system in a hurry, unpleasant though the system-leaving may be.

It sounds like something similar is going around in Colorado. I had some coworkers out earlier this week on my days off, and we all keep hearing from other people who are sick or have sick kids, etc.
I hope it passes quickly! Get some rest!

Oblique ematophobia stuff
I was just thinking to myself while at the clinic, "The nice thing about this random digestive bullshit, as compared to the one I had ten-plus years ago, is that I'm not firing from both ends this time." Then ten minutes ago, I get out of the shower and brush my teeth, and I'm fighting tooth and nail to keep only firing from one end. On the plus side, I did somehow manage to get things under control? I currently feel like I'm in no danger of that sort of thing, at least, though I've got also moved a trash can to be more strategically placed by my bed tonight.Yeah, the doctor said this one is also going around town here; given the time of year, I can't say I'm surprised that random stomach bugs are going around.
Anyway, rest is definitely the order of the day tomorrow, at any rate. And hopefully I won't end up missing more than one day of work (because I'm not terribly optimistic about tomorrow).

But yeah, this is definitely the time of year for stomach bugs. It's easier for all kinds of illness to spread as people gather in different and bigger groups than usual, travel more, etc.
I hope you've gotten a lot more rest, and are feeling better very soon.

If I still feel bad on Monday, I'm going back to the doctor.
