Because I thought it would be fun to share: things my heartmarks turn into
...Okay, not just heartmarks. Also symbols like ¦ or foreign letters like ç. But mostly heartmarks, 'cuz that's what I use most often. Anyway, Yahoo!Mail reads 'em weird, and presents 'em as kanji. Here's some of what I've gotten:
ç:
鏰 and 莽
¦:
娄
Heartmarks:
鈾モ櫏鈾 (three hearts)
鈾モ櫏鈾モ櫏鈾 (five hearts)
鏰:
閺
In conclusion: Yahoo!Mail is weird. But also possibly an interesting reason to look up kanji meanings.Unless they're actually Chinese, in which case I'll have to find a different dictionary.
Edit: Bonus: What other people's heartmarks have turned into:
鈾モ櫏鈾
...Which is really more of the same, but I wanted to include it anyway.
Edit 2: Okay, it's sort-of back to normal now. Kanji (and kana, thank you Pat) are now appearing as follows:
モ
é°
莽
娄
鈾
æ«
é–º
And heartmarks are now (back to):
♥
Which I'm pretty sure is what they used to be. It was interesting while it lasted...

鏰 isn't wanting to be translated, but has components of gols/money, mountain, and moon/month
莽 is grass or grassy field
娄 also isn't wanting to be translated but has woman/female in it (can't recognize the top half)
鈾 not wanting to be translated but also has gold/money
櫏 not wanting to be translated but has tree and a bunch of stuff I can't recognize...
閺 not wanting to be translated but has gate and something
Sorry I can't help any more

I suppose I could always check wwwjdic for the rest.
