Or you could call it *&&X% Day.
HAPPY DEEP DISCOUNT CHOCOLATE DAY EVE!!! ...Well, I could've gone with Singles Awareness Day, Heart Day, or the traditional Valentine's day, but I'd rather celebrate candy.
In the spirit of the day, I have managed to remember to give out at least one white chocolate heart lollipop thing, and let my brother have a good deal of the rest to hand out at Thursday Night Magic. (I totally flaked on actually handing out chocolate this year, guys.)
For anyone who cares about the Guess What My Icon Means Game, I may or may not have given you a huge hint somewhere in this entry.
And now, because I am in a surprisingly good mood (yay, not depressed! \o/) despite the library closing in less than half an hour, I'm doing one of those meme things ¦Db
Reply to this entry with two (or more) characters, and I will write you at least one sentence of fluff involving them. ...You can also request anti-fluff, or parody-fluff.
Edit: Forgot something! Chu, a Japanese kids book. No words, just one sound effect. Adorable ♥

Under the hat and monocle, Kaito seemed momentarily surprised, then grinned brightly. "Shin'ichi! I didn't think you'd be awake!"
Shin'ichi gritted his teeth. "Just answer the question, Kaito."
"Ah, that," Kaito said, slipping into the room and next to Shin'ichi's bed. "Well, today being Valentine's Day and all--"
"Which I'm sure you didn't find out until Nakamori-san threw chocolates at your head."
"Today being Valentine's Day and all," Kaito continued, undaunted, "I thought it would be appropriate if I came here to steal your heart." He seemed very pleased with this idea.
Shin'ichi stared at his boyfriend for a moment. "...Kaito, you already have that," he pointed out.
"Well," Kaito said, eyes twinkling as he leaned in closer, "I could always steal something else..." A gloved hand trailed meaningfully down Shin'ichi's chest.
The dectective gulped. "That could work," he rasped. Kaito just grinned.

Does your icon mean hearts and kisses?
How about some mother-child fluff between Eri and Ran? (mother-daughter bonding!)
And I approve of cheap chocolate day!

...Close enough! Your prize is (another) fic or scribble of your choice :3b

Eiri kept a hand on Ran's shoulder to steady her as the four-year-old stirred the rapidly melting chocolate chips. "Just keep stirring until there aren't any lumps left, and then we can start pouring," she told her daughter.
Ran grinned up at her, a smear of chocolate on her nose. "And then we can give some to Dad and Shin'ichi?"
Eiri smiled and kissed Ran on the nose. "Whatever you want, dear."

Cheap chocolate is like a gift from heaven.

I do? Whee! (and what was the whole right answer?) Since I like the parent-child bonding, how about Yuusaku and Shinichi?
--------------
Awwwwwwwwww. That's adorable. Horray for mother-daughter bonding!
It is spelled "Eri."
You need to post all these fic bits on mc1t!
--------------
Only if it is cheap in price, cheaply made chocolate can be very nasty.

Yep :3b Whole right answer would include the fandom to which it is a reference, which makes it incredibly obscure. There is an alternate answer to both parts of the question, which is actually even more obscure than the first answer.
----
Shin'ichi crinkled his nose at his father. "Why d'we hafta make chocolate for Ran an' Mom?"
"Because your mother and Ran-chan were very kind to us and gave us chocolate for Valentine's Day," Yuusaku replied, measuring chocolate chips into a double-boiler.
"But we don't have to give back chocolate until White Day!" his son protested.
Yuusaku regarded the boy. "Well no, but if we start now, we might just end up with something edible by then."
Shin'ichi ceded the point.

^___^ ♥
Really? I thought it was one of those interpretation-y things. I'll have to go through and correct that later.
...In a little while? Maybe?

So true. I was mostly thinking of 'cheap' in the 'deeply discounted' sense, though, so I think we're covered :3b

This one looks doable: http://forfood.rezimo.com/?p=393
Homemade Semi Sweet chocolate Chips:
Ingredients:
12 oz (340 grams) unsweetened chocolate
1 Tablespoon of Butter
12 Tablespoons of Fructose
1/4 Cup of Milk (preferably whole milk)
Directions:
Set-up a double-boiler (or make your own with 1 large pot, a strainer, and one small pot - see picture bellow) with water. Don’t fill up too much water, we don’t want any to splatter into the chocolate!
Set the double boiler on high heat. Add the butter and fructose and start melting it. Add the milk, and stir together until the butter has completely melted, then stir in your chocolate pieces. Once the water of the double boiler has started to boil, reduce the heat to low - or the chocolate will burn. Stir constantly until the chocolate has almost completely melted, then remove from heat and continue to stir until the chocolate has completely melted.
Pour into a mold. I used a silicon bread mold b/c it’s easiest to loosen the chocolate once it’s hardened. But, I’m sure you could use some sort of other plastic container.
The chocolate will re solidify with time…I was impatient and put mine in the freezer.
Once the chocolate is completely solid, press it out of the mold and chop it into chips on a chopping block with a large knife.
This makes enough for one chocolate chip cookie recipe.
(you could probably substitute splenda or something like that for fructose, if you can't find any fructose. From what I read, that might be a better idea. You might have to experiment a little to get the chocolate just right)

SQUEEE! That's adorable! You use prompts so well.

"Kaito?"
The messy-haired girl froze, her hand inches away from yet another box of (now incredibly cheap) chocolate. She swallowed and looked over her shoulder, her best innocent expression on. "A-are you talking to me?"
The girl behind her (him) scowled. "I know that's you, Kaito."
Kaito's face fell. "But, Aoko--! The chocolate." He gestured expressively to the sale signs with his empty arm (the other already loaded up with sweets).
Aoko stepped in close and shoved a wrapped box into his hands with a blush. "There, you can take those! And if they aren't enough, I've got more for you at home!"
Kaito looked between the box and his best friend slowly, the store chocolates forgotten. "Aoko...?"
Aoko was cherry red. "Now would you please go home and take off my spare uniform already?!"
Kaito beamed at her. "Absolutely!" He kissed Aoko on the cheek, and began skipping home, dragging her behind him.

Ran nodded. "You too, Kazuha-chan. You were very helpful." She beamed up at Shin'ichi, then stepped meaningfully on her boyfriend's - fiancé's - foot. "Shin'ichi? Didn't we have something to give them as thanks?"
"Oh, right!" Shin'ichi cleared his throat sheepishly, then pulled a small package from the inside of his jacket. "This is for both of you," he said, handing it to Heiji. "As appreciation for all you've done." The words sounded rather practiced, and Ran beamed at him, apparently finding his performance satisfactory. "And now, I believe we have a plane to catch," he informed them, then turned and dragged an unprotesting Ran to a near-by taxi.
Heiji and Kazuha watched the two of them pull away, Ran waving out the window and Shin'ichi smiling indulgently. When they were out of sight, Kazuha poked Heiji in the side. "Well? What's in the package, already?"
"Right, right, just a minute." Heiji pulled the lid off the box, revealing a very nice card from Ran, and something hidden by tissue paper. Heiji blanched under his tanned skin and Kazuha examined the card. "Uh, maybe we shouldn' look under there," he said.
Kazuha scowled and whapped him gently in the arm. "Ran-chan and Shinichi-kun got it for us, so we'd damn well better open it!"
Resigning himself to a very short life, Heiji pulled away the white tissue paper to reveal a pair of fuzzy, heart-shaped handcuffs; a note was tied around one of the links in Shin'ichi's handwriting, reading, "Try not to lose the keys on the first run-through."
Kazuha's face burned with fury. "The second he gets back here, I'm goin' ta shove another one of those apotoxin things down his throat!" she swore.
Heiji chuckled weakly, but tried to look appeasing; he knew what it was like to be on Kazuha's bad side. A thought struck him. "Does this mean we aren't keepin' 'em?"

Can I request.....BanXGinji? I'm in a GB mood :D

I seem to be thus far? I've got backup chocolate and Buddhist philosophy ready if I go out of the good mood, though.
*cracks knuckles* Okay, let's see what I can do! Disclaimer: may actually suck.

"Pleeeeease, Ban-chan?"
"Stupid; get your own!" Steeling himself, and holding the large gourmet chocolate bar far, far out of reach, Ban risked a look at his partner. Ginji scowled back pathetically, reaching desperately for the chocolate. Ban's resolve wavered for a split-second; maybe he should think about sharing some. Not much, just a nibble or something, but if it would get Ginji to shut up...
At that moment, Ginji's weight finally threw Ban off-balance, and threw the two of them down in a heap. Ginji took advantage of the situation to snap a rather large chunk off of the candy bar. "Yay!"
Ban shoved his partner off, growling. That was a much larger piece than he'd been intending to share! "Oi, give that back already--!"
"Nope, mine now!" Ginji crowed, shoving the entire chunk into his mouth. Ban grumbled a bit, left only with his somewhat smaller piece of candy and the choice of whether or not to go chasing after the piece that Ginji had stolen.

I so need to review the show now :/
