Throw me a concept/idea/title and and I will give you a brief summary of the story I would tell based around it.
(You have no idea how much I've missed doing memes like this on DW. I have missed them so much.)

Plants and humans take to this pretty well! There's some ...horticulturalism? Well, it doesn't start out entirely perfect, of course, but it does start out with houseplant "adoptions" and such, and then moves on to more of a houseplant personality matching system. On farms and the like, systems are set up for humane harvesting, and
Plants all have wildly different personalities, as humans do. Some plants are more affectionate than others. Spider plants are especially clingy. Cactuses are a bit more complex; some embrace their prickly exterior and all relevant stereotypes, others mourn them and live for their sweet, soft insides.
Working together, humans and plants start evolving towards a more sustainable global culture, where they can all live in harmony. ...Possibly there are eventually human/plant hybrids. This would make me happy.
In the pessimistic version, the plants figure out exactly who and what is responsible for all this ecological destruction and commence all-out war. In the slightly-less-pessimistic version, they only or mostly attack the big conglomerates who are 99.9999% responsible for this BS; in the incredibly pessimistic version, they effectively target all humans (with some human sympathizers and some plant-allied humans, etc). This does not end well for humans, one way or another.

I love this! (Okay, the optimistic version a bit more because inter-genus communication, whee!)
