Sales at ICON
Nov. 2nd, 2014 07:32 pmSo, uh. People bought, like, two thirds of the stuff I put in the art show at ICON. Well, not quite, but it was still a pretty hefty amount.
Lessee if I can list it all:
* Patchwork Dragon (AKA Consolation Dragon, finally going to a forever home, yay!)
* White griffin
* Lavender jellyfish (not yet shared here)
* Four flying pigs of varying colors
* One blue dolphin
* Two bottled octopuses
* One painted lantern
* Lightning bug
Yeah, I think that's it. I had one multicolor dolphin, three flying pigs, a spaceship in a bottle, and three griffins left. Plus one dragon that I finished at the last possible minute and probably didn't get a lot of attention.
Between this an AnimeIowa, I clearly need to make more dragons. I am down to one that's not quite as finished as I'd like it to be; I'd like to have at least three, plus some Asian-style dragons.
This is also waaaaaay better than last year's sales at ICON, which were apparently low for everyone.
And then I stopped at Target on the way home and picked up some more of these dolls (link to my Tumblr). I'm up to six, now, plus an eighteen inch doll of a different brand who's kinda racially ambiguous (Target only had two Hearts 4 Hearts dolls available the last time I was there, the other dolls were on sale for slightly less than the ♥4♥ dolls, and Mom was paying, so). Among the new dolls are two that aren't pictured on the boxes or at the main website yet: Surjan and Nyesha. Surjan is from Nepal and Nyesha is from New York. Nyesha is also mixed race; her father is Mexican and her mother is African-American. There were two of her on the shelf, and we've got a large local Hispanic population, so I might be getting another of her - especially if I can't find Consuela anywhere. They did have one of Zelia (from Brazil) this time, so that's something as well. I really do hope I can find Consuela (from Mexico) soon, though.
