soc_puppet: Dreamsheep as Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time (Pow)

Am I ever not kidding when I type that. I mean, wow, did this thing go on forever.

Saturday was interesting. Pretty much all I did was go to the dojo and bum around online. At the dojo, one of the relatively new students was wearing a grey t-shirt with the kana for 'Icha Icha Paradise' written on the front. On the left sleeve was written 'Kakashi', on the right was the naught sign, and on the back was a picture of the ninja in question, shot from the back, sitting down and giggling over something (three guesses what). I almost cracked up. It was all I could do to remain serious for the following classes.

Found out in bo class that I instinctively don't like to hit myself in the head. Gee, I wonder why? [/sarcasm] What this basically means is that when making a certain hit I don't bring the staff too close to my head and so don't end up injuring my wrist or accidentally knocking myself unconcious. Covered a lot of basics in Shinkendo, as there is a test coming up. I'll be skipping this one, I think, and might test next time around. Maybe. If I feel a lot more confident about the material. Spent the last half-hour of class going through box patterns, and I think I may actually be able to keep them straight from now on, knock on wood.

Got home, ate dinner, instantly signed onto the computer. Did not sign off until very early this morning. Was quite entertained. Made some new friends. Still cackling over it. Horribly abused a freshly made Rosa Gigantea icon. *gestures to icon in post* See that? That is Sei (AKA Rosa Gigantea). She doesn't normally dress like that at all. And if you don't read/watch Maria-sama ga Miteru for any other reason, you will do so for her. Here, go look it up on Lililicious. They've got the first two graphic novels translated and did a damn fine job, if I do say so myself. Read. Watch. Whatever.

...How did that turn into an advertisement for Marimite? Oh yeah, Sei. Anyway!

Stayed up entirely too late commenting back and forth with my newfound friends. Especially because I had to get up early today D: But getting up early was worth it, since I got to go to Spillville ^_^ I was a bit sad that there wasn't more Dvorak stuff, but at least now I have a copy of the New World symphony on CD ♥

Also saw the stone man, which is this three-foot pillar of granite that's slightly person-shaped and was used by settlers and travelers as a landmark, and what claimed to be the World's Smallest Church. It had a total of four pews and could sit eight people. Probably twelve if they were skinny. It also had what Dad is calling the World's Nicest Smelling Porta-Potty. Possibly because it isn't used often, because it was certainly warm enough today.

Listened to the Hitchiker's Guide radio show tapes on the way there and back. Didn't manage to finish the last tape we have, which is okay, since it's not even the last tape in the series. I'm pretty sure we're short at least two episodes. It's sad, but I'll live.

Ended up feeling grumpy today. Have decided to blame it on either my recent lack of sleep (though God, was it worth it) or my recent inconsistancy in taking my medication.

Future projects: [livejournal.com profile] manycases1truth stuff, East Wind, Communications (in all its myriad forms), 1000 paper cranes (managed fifty the other day while my connection was down, haven't made more than three since ^^;), and possibly a website. Going to look around and try not to resort to Geocities as a host; the new side-ad thing really annoys me. Anyone have any suggestions?

Parting note: My LJ one-year anniversary is coming up :D Okay, I know it doesn't seem particularly significant, but it's the longest I've ever been able to keep up with any form of daily record taking. I've never been good with diaries; probably because I'd be the only one who ever read it. ...Which might explain a lot, actually. Anyway, I'm contemplating taking fic/art requests to celebrate the occasion, but we'll have to see how I'm feeling creativity-wise when the date gets a little closer.
