Summary: Kid says goodbye in his own way
Fic: The Last Heist
Kaito stared at the rock in his hand. The jewel glowed cheerily back at him.
That's right; glowed. As if glowing was a normal thing for rocks to do under a full moon.
He could quit now, Kaito realized. He no longer had to be a thief. There was just one thing he needed to do before that.
Grinning, Kaito did an about-face and walked back to the edge of the roof. With a flick of his wrist, all of the lights went out; with a snap, a spotlight trained on him.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Kaito said, grinning, "I would like to make an announcement. Following tonight, there will no longer be any Kid heists. I am going into retirement. But before I leave, there's something that I think needs to be said. Inspector Nakamori, Hakuba Saguru, if you would step forward?" He didn’t give them a chance to hide, and with another snap, the two detectives were illuminated by another pair of spotlights. "Cue the music, maestro!" At once, music started playing from police speakers. The audience looked dumbfounded; Nakamori looked like he was about to blow a gasket; Hakuba merely looked as if he wished he were elsewhere.
Clearing his throat and miming a microphone, Kid began to sing. "I stole gems and jewels from princes and fools, I've stolen treasures rare from everywhere, but you my darling I must say, have stolen something far more valuable from me today.
"Yoooou’veeee stolen my heeeeeaaart..."
Kaito was well into the third chorus by the time Hakuba and Nakamori got their wits together enough to chase after him.

It amuses the heck out of me to imagine Kid singing goodbye to the task force.
...Wrote the song myself, though it's cliche enough that I can't be certain there aren't at least a dozen more like it. No, I can't think of any specific tune it's suppposed to be to.
