'Important' parts are in bold. Like Nara and other parts of Japan, the shika, or Japanese deer, are 'revered' here. Why? I'm not exactly sure. In Nara, the deer are a symbol of the gods housed in Kasuga-Jingu, so I imagine the Kashima deer are revered as symbols of Kashima-Jingu's own Takemikazuchi-no-Okami. Of course, being penned as tourist attractions, the deer are completely domesticated, are hand-fed snacks and crackers from vending machines, bleet at passersby, and generally look bored and morose. (from this site)
As an additional note, 'Ino' means boar and 'Chou' means butterfly. And if you don't know what an Orochi is, I suggest looking it up on Wikipedia. Hell, Naruto itself is basically jam-packed with Japanese cultural references; you can't take two steps without tripping over one. It amuses me far too much ^^;
*sneaks food to the plunny* :3 Well, turnabout is fair play.
Great ^__^ I haven't really done one, either. We'll have to work out the details, of course, but I think it could be a lot of fun :) I'll be on tomorrow evening, or I can sign on now. Or both, though I would like a little sleep before tomorrow.
I shall be prepared to wave pointy objects in your direction should you need it :D
