Goings On

So! This afternoon from two to six I report to the Fun Zone for (more) training :D (For those of you unfamiliar with it, it's soon(?) to get a website ^__^ ...Not by me, but I'll definitely provide a link, as much of the stock is amusing.) We'll be working out a schedule today. I'm leaving in about half an hour to walk there, and praying that I can make it in the 100(F)/upper 30's(C) weather. Thankfully, the humidity is not as bad as it could be. Unthankfully, it's still a bit of a walk.

Nearly back to fic-writing mode (Thank God 9_9 manycases1truth is starting the challenge exchange thing soon), hope to get more done on things like East Wind and Small Things. And finish out the latest chapter of Communications, but that goes almost without saying.

Pratchett reading spree has been going quite well. I've finished four books in six days (which is fewer than can be said of some, but more of others; regaining the internet put a dent in my reading). Currently I'm about eight pages into Men at Arms, but hope to be farther along soon.

Keep meaning to pick up the Naruto manga again. I'm through book twenty-four, which means I'm almost to the time skip, but I keep putting it off for some reason. Still don't hate Sasuke; still not quite sure why--aside from the fact that I can maybe see why he's doing it. Not that I'm saying it's not a stupid choice, just that I can see where he's coming from.

Current personal goals include 'Be more self-confident' and 'Figure out what to do with that Harry Potter: OotP box you snatched from the book store last year on the off-chance that it might be valuable some day'. Currently also resisting the urge to write boysex on the basis that I can't decide who to write about. Hoping to get access to a working scanner soon, hopefully my own (but I'm not holding my breath here). No real reason why.

So. First 'real' day of work was pretty exhausting. Walked all the way to the Fun Zone--ended up with two blisters, one per foot. I'm taking the bus next time, I swear. (<---still relies on public transportation.) Still, had a good time working. Learned some stuff about the guy who came up with plastic puke. Like the fact that he also came up with the giant sunglasses, Operation, and Mouse Trap. Sooner or later, I'll be forced to remember his name. Today, of course, is neither sooner nor later.

Anyway, still haven't gotten around to working out a work schedule. Mark asked me to come in on Saturday, and to call him tomorrow so we can work out when, as I have dojo in the afternoon. (Am not relishing the thought of going to dojo with blisters. Ouch!) Learned many 'trade secrets', which I have been told not to repeat. Though really, the viking hat thing was hilarious. Visit some time, express interest in buy a viking hat, we'll show you, I promise! Also, it appears I may be cajoled into making the Fun Zone website. I shall have to begin researching html. I want it to look good, darnit! (<---has store pride)

Managed to bowl my way through another book of Naruto. Still haven't managed to hate Sasuke. Am quite weirded out by Itachi, tho. Also, I still can't believe how long I managed to forget that 'chou' (when spelled a certain way) means 'butterfly' =_= A warning to all Naruto fans: keep a close eye on names; Kishimoto-sensei jam-packs symbolism and Japanese culture into even the smallest detail. Trust me, it'll seem like you're being overrun with jokes.
