Misery has teeth
Aug. 23rd, 2007 01:50 pmSo this morning, the packing material that the oral surgeon stuffed in my dry socket came out for the second time in as many weeks ¦Db Given that it tastes nasty, that he gave me a few days to heal before putting the stuff in pretty much both times and it hasn't yet, and that it has indeed not stayed put both these times, I'm going to skip on the re-packing this time and just live with the jawache. I can pop pills every four hours or so to combat the pain - it's what I've been doing so far, after all. (Yes, this includes the middle of the night my sleep schedule. "Oh look, it's four in the morning! I wonder why I'm up? Oh yeah, I hurt places!" ...Hey, it's better than when I first got the Q@#$%@#$%# thing and was waking up every hour, all right? I'll live with it.) Hopefully, without the (assumed) aggravation caused by the stuffing of some material into it, the hole will now close on its own. ...Wow, that could sound incredibly bad out of context.
In other news, mentally debating at the moment whether or not to go to Anime Club. On the one hand, it's two hours of hanging out with (fellow) anime geeks in a friendly setting. On the other hand, it's two hours that I won't have internet access when I normally would, and I'm low on that as it is. I guess there's no harm in checking it out, at any rate.
Also, does anyone know if checking the "don't show download window" option in FireFox will make that stupid lag go away? Because the way things are now, if I start a download or if one finishes, there's a good five to seven seconds when I can't really do anything on the internet. At all. Except wait for the downloads to show up on the window. Since I type at 79 WPM, that's something like fifteen to twenty words I could potentially be typing but cannot. This is also annoying as all hell when I want to download something with a small file size, like a picture. So if that helps, I'm going for it.
And now, most likely, I am off to check out Anime Club for a while. Ta!
