Hell hath no flurries like a winter storm
Feb. 26th, 2008 08:12 pmToday's subject line is brought to you courtesy of my dad, for having come up with it. It's also inspiring personal ponderings re: the number of words for a specific phenomenon (snow, rain, etc), but probably not anything interesting enough to post. I will say that snow flurries are generally characterized as sparse snowfall, usually pellets/particles rather than flakes, rather than being a very busy snowfall as the name might suggest.
Was very stupid last night, and ended up staying up until 8:00 this morning reading copy/pasted fanfiction. Ended up skipping class for the first time in two semesters as a result. Feel sorta guilty, but will live. 'Specially if I get back to work right away.
Lurker Day approacheth! For those of you as yet unfamiliar with the concept, Lurker Day (← original concept post) is basically a psuedo-holiday that I created for the sole purpose of having an excuse to de-lurk places twice a year. I hope to have around four banners done later tonight for general use, and then at least two fics done for the occasion itself, in addition to a ficbit meme :3b I seem to have fallen down completely on generic banners, but I suppose I'll live. I look forward to seeing anything anyone else does for the occasion ♥
Dropped by the library the other day, and managed against my expectations to actually find a copy of That One Book after all. It's currently sitting by my computer downstairs, waiting for when I'll have the time/patience to deal with it.
City High held a Soul Food Dinner tonight, for the outrageously good price of $5.00/family (a family being up to six people). Ate my heart out and loved it, though truthfully the collard greens were a little salty for my taste.
