Just a few bullet points
Feb. 4th, 2011 02:29 amBlargh. I need to stop doing that Not Updating thing. Especially when I actually have stuff I want to update about. Not that I haven't already said that a dozen times before 6_6a
* For those of you who have missed it, the Penny Arcade Dickwolves Debacle continues to be a Thing that is Happening. There's a pretty good timeline of events here [link fixed now, sorry for the inconvenience ^^;;;), and a very good basic breakdown of why we humorless hysterical ugly fun-hating feminist nags are all up in censorship about it here. [/ironic use of douchewad labels]
Remember folks, NEVER read the comments. They're not all fail in the specific post I linked, but there's enough fail in there to make my teeth itch bad.
Other important socio-political things are happening, but I'm currently failing to pay them the attention they deserve ._.a So I'm going to skip writing about them for now.
* Finished amigurumi commission one (vargouille, D&D 3.5 version) a week ago Tuesday, am almost finished with amigurumi commission two (Xellos(s), or however you spell it, from Slayers), and have begun work on Charity Amigurumi. So far, two of my winning bidders have asked for something that I already have a pattern worked out for, which makes the whole thing take much less time. Not that I don't relish the challenge of figuring out how to make something new, of course ;) I'm just relieved that I don't have to do it for all four people ^^;
* Steam Powered: Lesbian Steampunk Stories has hit the shelves! My copies are still in transport at the moment, but it looks like there's possibly more cool things ahead for them, so that's cool at least?
Which reminds me, I 100% dropped the ball on this one, so uh. If the lovely folks who were possibly interested in buying one of my three extra copies are still interested, I am also still interested in getting a smidge of the money back. *feels like a thing that is made of FAIL and ANTI-AWESOME*
On a distracting-from-my-fail note, Steam Powered 2 has been given the go-ahead, and submissions are now open :Db I've got pipe dreams about submitting a story of my own (not this one, actually; it shares a spawning point, but is otherwise completely different), but I need to read the rest of Lies My Teacher Told Me MINIMUM before I even think about starting it. Maybe by the time submissions start for Steam Powered 5...
