RL report, Yet more crochet for charity
May. 13th, 2011 12:19 amBlargh, tired. And today was my day OFF, too. I'd be placated by the fact that I only work a half-day tomorrow, except I also have "dress" rehearsal and the alto section has been drafted to bring treats >_< I'll probably just be lazy and buy cookies or something. Everyone's been spoiled by my chocolate covered strawberries. I mean, they don't take a lot of time and effort, but it's still more than store-bought goods!
And then on Saturday, I get to get up eeeeaaaarly in the morning and open at Orscheln's. Followed by the aforementioned concert at 7:00 PM (call time at 5:30). Still, there will be cute fluffy things at Orscheln's, so that will soothe the sting a bit. (We got GEESE - er, goslings - in on Wednesday! They are so adorable and ornery I could cry ♥♥♥ A couple picked two of them out before I was even done setting food out for them, with promises to name them "Honky" and "Tonky" XDDD)
In a flip from a few days ago, I am now distracted from writing by drawing and crochet ¦3b Go, me! I'm about a third of the way done with my dad's birthday present: a figure based on the painting "Woman with Plant(s)" by Grant Wood (first image here), holding a (hopefully) live version of the same plant. Dad likes plants, and he likes Iowa stuff, and he likes my art, I figure I can't go wrong with a combination of the three of them ;) I'll probably get him a round garden thing as well, though, just in case.
Speaking of crochet, I've (finally) got an offer up at
