Crochet stuff
Jan. 6th, 2013 03:42 pmI dropped off a fresh batch of floppy cats at White Rabbit on Friday; apparently it was a good thing I did, because they were down to three. While there I asked if dogs were maybe also possibly okay? I got an affirmative, so I dropped that one off with the cats and have made plans to crochet up a few more to drop off soon-ish. Just gotta decide what. (Dogs that fit the body shape shown above are preferred, if anyone has any suggestions. I can make tail and ear alterations no problem, but otherwise it can be a bit tricky.)
I'm through testing the European dragon pattern and have a few corrections to make before I put it up for sale. Using the printout has definitely taught me important things about potentially selling patterns: While it's good to have someone else beta-test the assembly instructions, I should definitely test out the stitches myself. This is good to know for planning reasons. Next up: Actually editing what I need to in the Euro dragon pattern and possibly looking through the instructions on Ravelry for how to sell patterns through them, see if they have any clauses that prevent me from selling the same pattern elsewhere, etc.
While I was being crochet-productive, I also got some fresh pictures up on my Etsy account which are considerably less yellow than the ones that were up previously. Black Opal Dragon is also more colorful/sparkly, which pleases me.
Also did some upkeep on hooked_on_anime; my MLP pattern has now been translated into Czech, and there is, at long last, a single crochet version. I could weep for joy over the latter, and the former makes my very happy where my Czech heritage is <3
Ordered some clear plastic eyes from a supplier on Etsy; I'm looking forward to painting my own colors on slit- and round-pupil eyes, what with gold not being standardly available in my preferred sizes 'round these parts. Ditto slit-pupil blue, which, I can use round-pupil for cats, but slit-pupil generally looks more catlike, so. Looking forward to those arriving as well.
Last but not least, I finished assembling Draco the Winter Storm dragon last night. I'll see about taking pictures tomorrow, I think, 'cuz he looks fab :3b
