Today in brief
May. 11th, 2013 11:56 pmMaking this quick because there's not much of today left.
Today was accidentally triple-booked. My cousin (second cousin, once removed? first cousin, twice removed? one of those two) was having a party for her third birthday, which my parents had RSVP'd to. It started at the same time as setup for the roller derby craft show. The roller derby craft show opened to the public two hours before the bout, and one hour before I had to leave to get to the location of the Quire concert. The concert was at seven-thirty and went until about nine, which was also about when the derby bout was to end.
Mom and I swung really quickly by the birthday party to say "hi" and drop off a couple presents, then skedaddled to the derby location. We set things up and I hung around until I had to leave, had a great concert, and then went back to the derby location to pick up Mom and the remaining stuff (unsold merch, card tables) to go home.
Right before leaving the derby location, I performed a trade with one of my fellow craftspersons that I'd negotiated during the setup period: I exchanged my tiger-griffin for an absolutely amazing piece of art constructed partly out of a violin that had been beyond repair. I could attempt to describe it, but I could not do it justice at the moment. I will absolutely rave about it later. Also there will be pictures, because I am just that enamored of it.
Amazing trade. I seriously feel like I got a bargain here. Wow.
