Recipe Report
Sep. 24th, 2013 02:10 pmThe results are in - that is to say, our Baking for Dietary Restrictions teacher told us what sort of recipes we'd need to bring in today, tomorrow, and Thursday. We need a bread today, a dessert tomorrow, and a quick bread (= something made with baking soda/powder) Thursday.
I was banking on all desserts again, but in retrospect that was naive. Desserts would naturally be more difficult to find with low carbs, and general breads are more difficult to find without gluten/wheat flour. This means I've got a wider selection of desserts narrowed down and have barely even glanced at breads 9_9
Anyone wanna help me attempt to predict what we'll be making sans dairy next week?
Possible recipes:
Today: Besan Flatbread; Sorghum Bread (again) if we don't have besan (chickpea flour); French Bread Rolls (again) if we don't have any sorghum, because I know we have millet flour. I just need to make sure I get to it first...
Tomorrow: Leaning towards White Chocolate Orange Blondies. Or maybe I'll hold off on those until dairy-free and/or various allergy things and go with Lemon Coconut Cupcakes instead. I dunno, there's a lot more dessert options to sort through that bread options.
Thursday: Maybe the Cinnamon Pear Muffins? We've got pear trees in our yard I've yet to use the fruit from. I have more time to sort through quick bread recipes than the others, though.
I have totally gotta investigate our flour options. There may be a trip to New Pi in my future... (Sob sob, my wallet! At least my crochet patterns have been selling fairly well lately.)
Oh! Also! Tomorrow is my last breakfast shift! (For the internship this semester.) Quire started not long ago, but I skipped the last two sessions so I could be up extra early on Monday. I'm 100% looking forward to going and singing again :)
