Catching them all, again
Jun. 17th, 2015 07:20 pmCurrently working on getting a completed Pokedex into the Pokemon Bank for ease of Shiny Charm acquisition. I last completed the Pokedex in White 2, just weeks before X and Y were released. Unfortunately, my method of filling the 'dex relied on leveling up a single 'mon at a time to get data, which meant that the data for the pre-evolutions is... less accessible. Or at least less easily accessible. I can still breed the fully evolved Pokemon, and then level up the babies (for those that need leveling to evolve), it's just a chore. With the addition of the Pokemon Bank system, I'm currently catching, leveling, and trading a single iteration of each Pokemon, so, for example, I can have Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise waiting for me to transfer them to a new game and farm their data. I also just managed a sneaky-trade for Yveltal, which is the only Pokemon I hadn't actually acquired my own "copy" of. (The requester was looking for a level 91+ Greninja with 6IVs, code for "caught in the Friend Safari". I traded my level 100 female Greninja with Hidden Ability, and while I bred her rather than catching her, I certainly hope that counts.)
I'm currently working on getting the middle stages of the starters ready to go. I had all the final stages, and most of the first stages (though it looks like I'll probably have to breed for Chikorita and Totodile, and to get their middle stages). It's a good distraction from the recent Pokemon "freemium" games, to which I have admittedly become somewhat addicted, sigh. It's a bit of a pain when I can't remember what I've caught in the core games vs. Rumble World, though.
Welp, that's it for this inconsequential update. Onwards to 720!
