Anti-choice trollery in fanfic comments
Sep. 19th, 2015 09:18 amWelp, I just got my first legit actual flame on A Serious Case of Bad Timing (as opposed to concern troll, which I had before, and I'm still slightly disappointed I didn't include a passive-aggressive smiley face in my response to them). I'm pretty sure the flamer didn't actually read the fic, they just read the summary and went ahead and posted an angry (relatively short) screed in the comments.
TBH, I'm kinda amused by it? And slightly amazed that it took so long to get a real flame. And a huge part of me wants to write them a custom alternate ending in which Stiles doesn't get an abortion, and then [bad, bad things happen]. But in the end, I really don't think that's the person I want to be. Less for the flamer (because I would take some serious vindictive glee in doing so) and more because there are other people who read the comments who might be triggered by such an ending.
So I'll probably just link to imnotsorry again. Though I'm not particularly tempted to include a smiley face this time. (Maybe a wink-y face, though; that could work!)
