Sep. 17th, 2021 01:19 amSources suggest that now is actually the time to start shopping for December holiday gifts for friends and family, because there are already supply chain problems and they'll only get worse as the pressure to Buy! Buy! Buy! ramps up. I've got my parents, my brother, my sister-in-law, and my nibling to buy Xmas presents for, and then my mother, Nibling, and my brother to also buy birthday presents for, because Mom's birthday is a few days before mine (which is on the last day of November), Nibling's is just a handful of days before Xmas, and if things are back up and running appropriately before my brother's birthday in mid-January, I will be shocked.
Gotta start brainstorming now. Would my brother and his wife like a FunKey S each? Or either? They've got an infant at home, so probably nothing that would take up too much energy. Mysterious Package Corporation stuff is probably out for that reason, or I'd almost certainly try and go in with my parents on an experience for my brother. Sister-in-law I can probably find something ally-ish from NerdyKeppie, at least.
Mom is tricky, she doesn't give as many hints or specific requests; I know she liked the smell of the funnel cake scented soap I got from
dnd-apothecary last year, so maybe something with that? Maybe a set of dog walking coupons? Hrm. I may want to go DVD hunting as well...
I don't know if Dad is still into Game of Thrones as much as he was a couple of years ago, and while I do know he's a pretty huge fan of the Good Omens TV miniseries, I don't know how much more stuff related to that I can get him. Maybe the Good Omens audiobook? Or a different Pratchett audiobook? Definitely not anything too heavily reliant on modern technology; I love him, but he's a bit of a luddite.
Nibling will only be turning one this year, so as long as he can safely chew on whatever I give him, he should be happy. That said, it doesn't narrow down my shopping choices a whole lot.
And then I should probably start making a list for myself, as well. Choices, choices...
Edit: Oh, hey! Teepublic does onesies! I'll bet I have at least one design up that Nibling's parents would appreciate...
