Someone tell me why HeroRat.org will not work on FireFox for me. (Possibly it is just my copy of FF Portable that is effed-up. Possibly it is not. It is irritating in either case. WANNA READ ABOUT HEROIC LAND-MINE-SNIFFING RATS, OKAY.)

Quick question for the computer geeks! I've been thinking of reformatting my hard drive recently. Since my computer came with Windows XP and a few programs pre-installed on it, will they be wiped out in the reformatting, resulting in me needing to install similar programs, or will they still be there after? I'm guessing they'll be gone, but it's always good to check. Question answered, thanks much daemonitellama ♥

Finally, as continued reassurance to everyone who has discouraged me from doing so, I am not dropping Gurren Lagann. I am going to continue watching. I didn't have plans to drop it in the first place, to tell the truth. So don't worry yet!

Also, yes, they'll be wiped 100%, down to the OS unless your company gave you a ghost image disk in which to reinstall with.

I have no idea? I guess I could look around for the info. And I could live with using Explorer to view that site if the @$%#$ thing would just let me scroll down.

That's good to have confirmed; and no, I'm pretty sure it didn't. I guess I'll just have to go looking for free programs. Does the potential of switching to Linux make me an uber-nerd now, or am I still just a regular nerd?

Unless you are really comfortable with the idea, having a backup OS disc might be a wiser idea then switching. (But it makes you fairly nerdy, yes.)

Getting a backup OS disc would probably involve some form of paying for it, likely through the nose, unless my uncle or one of my nerd friends has a copy I could mooch off of somewhere. And whatever I get has to be compatible with my USB sticks, or it's a no-go. If all else fails, I could probably have one of my nerd friends stand over my shoulder to help if something goes Seriously Wrong. (Oh good :3b)

If you go with a linux OS, remember to download and install USB drivers. They're not standard IIRC. And switching will require a fair amount of experimentation, I expect.
