Man, I don't understand how this guy has a job. Leaving aside his assholery (maybe his employers just don't give a shit), it's like he knows absolutely nothing about design. His reply to complaints about too much scrolling is "scrolling is free"? Srsly? I am not a designer and even I know that avoiding unnecessary levels of scrolling or clicking is elementary.
