More on Mood Themes

I took a glance, and it looks like mood theme pics can only be 50x50 pixels at the largest (don't know about file size), and also that there are 15 "top level"/minimum moods.

The top level moods are:

Angry
Awake
Confused
Determined
Devious

Energetic
Enthralled
Happy
Indescribable
Nerdy

Okay
Sad
Scared
Thoughtful
Working

For an absolute minimum mood theme, everything else can be inherited from those fifteen. Though a number of those are also single moods, and some of the moods that can inherit from these fifteen can have their own sub-branches.

So I think that Mood Theme In A Year (Or Less) could start with those fifteen, and then move on to what branches out from them. Seems like a decent plan. I'll probably also make "Help me figure out the bare minimum of making a custom mood theme" one of my holiday_wishes, though.

Ah, good luck! I made myself a custom complete mood theme (Legend of the Five Rings art) but it was so many years ago I literally don't remember anything beyond just cropping the heck out of a zillion images. :p

Thanks! Honestly, it'll be my first time making a custom mood theme, and I'm pretty excited about it. I'm glad to have a good approach now, as well! I was torn between going alphabetically (easy to jump in anywhere during the year and know you won't need to worry about repeating themes) or using a random number generator (might be more fun to mix things up), but starting from the top level and then going with whatever moods branch from them seems both efficient and fun. Plus, it'll be nice and quick for anyone who wants a mood theme in a real hurry! "Just want the bare minimum? Okay! We do three themes a week, and you'll have the bare minimum for top-level moods after five weeks."

I'm currently planning on a comm; it feels like a very community-ish thing to do, you know? Plus, if people like it, I think it'd be easier to make it annual on a community than on my own journal. Or at least less cluttered-feeling.

(😂 Of course he does! Really, he should have applied himself a bit more on that, or we might not have had quite so much trouble with him later. (I will also admit to having completely forgotten the existence of Francis prior to my first re-read of the series 😅 He was with us for such a short time!))

Also my completely ridiculous feelings about Alex of Tirragen's, uh, later activities are 1000000% influenced by finding these books in middle school; my best friend was named Alex XD XD XD (We are still in touch! I've known him since 5th grade haha.)

Right? 😂 Like, I'd narrowed it down to 18 that I thought could cover the rest, but 15 is even less than that! Granted, I'd also made sure that there were no moods that couldn't also be associated with other moods, which the official mood tree has several of, but it still makes my life easier. The branching will be what makes things interesting...

My introduction was in late grade school; it didn't quite take, and ended up stalled out after "In the Hand of the Goddess", right up until the Immortals quartet caught my attention in junior high and Alanna made her appearance there XD I ended up spoiled a bit for the later two Lioness books, but it did get me to read them all again, so I count it as a win overall ;)

Aha: I checked the publication date of Immortals - it was published after my family had moved (back) to S Korea and my school ilbrary there didn't have it, and by the time I graduated HS and went to college, I wasn't reading many books for younger readers anymore. XD For years I didn't even realize there WERE more books in that world.
