Things I Learned at Anime Iowa

soc_puppetAnime Iowa this year was an education.
The dealer's room was more empty than I would have liked and no one recognized my Kid plushie (or if they did, I didn't hear them _say_ they recognized it) but the people I handed out hair ties to were very appreciative and 'Kenchan and I managed to warp a few minds with our cosplay skit--in a _good_ way if you can believe it O_o.
1) I need a copy of Fluxx. It is the most unpredictable and evil game ever and I love it to bits and I need a copy of it. Or several.
2) Ditto to the Anime version of Apples to Apples. Because, dude, _Anime_ Apples to Apples. I need. Bad.
3) The Ed cosplayers I met got progressively more spastic. See, I'd walk up to them and say, "Aren't you a little short to be a State Alchemist?" and they were supposed to spaz out. Ran into the first one on Friday; I don't think he was quite into character yet, because all he did was glare at me and say, "Bite me." The second one I got a "WHO ARE YOU CALLING SHORT!!!" out of. The third one, though, took the cake for having to be physically restrained from pummeling me into the elevator wall by the Roy accompanying her ^____^. I had waaaaay too much fun doing that.
4a) Ran into the second Ed again later; she was doing a cosplay skit with a Winry, a Scar and a Greed. I missed it T-T because I was backstage at the time, but some of the antics while things were being set up were pretty bizarre. Thankfully, Ed got more into character when I called her a Micro-chibi and a Bean ^_^. I had to duck behind someone for cover ^____^. Ed-baiting is so much fun when it's done right ^_^.
4b) Dude, Greed/Winry: OTP! The people playing Greed and that particular Winry were apperantly something of an item ^_^ and cuddled back stage to a certain degree. It was amazingly cute ^_^. Also saw that party's Ed give the Scar a back rub. My fangirl mind just kind-of ran off with me...
5) I need to make more hair ties -_-... I'm down to my last one (aside from mine, which I will keep).
