Happy Moon Landing Eve!
Jul. 19th, 2025 09:14 pmI feel like the big themes of Lunar Landing Day/National Moon Day are science, human ingenuity, understanding, hope/determination, and a bit of whimsy. Hope and determination to use said science and human ingenuity to come together and make the world we shepherd a better place for all of us. An understanding of our place in the universe and how we can keep it safe.
On the more whimsical side of the holiday: Remember to leave out oatmeal and moon pies for Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, and donβt let Michael Collins convince you to prank NASA π

I do like that there's a celebration for that; it's a huge accomplishment, after all!

Date: 2025-07-20 01:24 pm (UTC)Hmmm, maybe I should have looked up the actual date or realised that "eve" implies an actual day after it... Thanks for informing me in any case!
I think I can manage to do that today!
