Cloudy Daze Mood Theme

Dunno when I'll be able to submit it for consideration as an official mood theme, but in the mean time, here's a preview:









These are all screencaps from the folder where the moods live, so once they get uploaded and properly implemented, there shouldn't be any weird boxes around them anymore 😅

Anyway, if you want to get a jump on things, here's a downloadable .zip of all of the above moods, plus a super secret alternate version of Quixotic!

😂 When I was coming up with how to do Thirsty, I thought to myself, "Well, obviously it's going to have to be a cloud sucking up evaporated water to rain later. But that seems like it'd be pretty difficult to communicate visually, especially at this scale (30x30 pixels). I know, I'll just have a cloud slurping up water via giant straw!" And so Thirsty was born, hehe 😁

Absolutely! For Geeky, I'd already used up my "saving to the cloud" idea on Nerdy, so I needed something new. I decided to aim for something between "inspired by how Everything Is Square in Minecraft" and "Maybe kinda pixelated?", since I wasn't sure regular pixelated would communicate well at this scale. Though maybe if I just did a double-sized Tiny Cloud from Intimidated and Lonely...

I hope so! I personally love how the little firework turned out in Shocked and the color gradients in Artistic/Creative/Nostalgic/Rejuvenated. And the floppy disk in Nerdy, actually 😂 I was also pleasantly surprised how well the windmill and plane turned out in Intimidated and Uncomfortable!

I think you may even have been the person who expressed interest in making one of your own at Mood Theme in a Year, so I only hope I haven't stolen your thunder 😂

It'll probably take a while for it to be officially available; even after it's uploaded, it won't be live until the code push following it. But if you're impatient and have a paid account, I can walk you through how to upload it yourself from the file I linked! I've been meaning to make a walkthrough of how to upload a custom mood theme for a while anyway ✌

Thank you for believing in my capacity, but I couldn't even contemplate making a mood theme.

I sure do love clouds (my icon could be "wacky" or "thirsty" or "bewitched" but I can't imagine how to represent it on that tiny canvas.)

Huh; I'm pretty sure it was someone from my Circle, at any rate. Well, whatever! There's clouds now, and hopefully soon there will be clouds for everyone.

Well, mood theme images can actually be up to the same size (dimension-wise, 100x100 pixels) as icons; you could theoretically go through your cloud pics and make icon-sized versions of any you thought matched particular Dreamwidth moods. I personally would be inclined to round off the corners, but that's just me. I don't believe that bewitched or wacky are current moods, but Thirsty is, and you might be able to sub in Crazy* or Quixotic for the other two!

* One of the moods I might change if I had the power, TBH
