"—And I found these for you!" their trainer exclaimed, finishing the detailed report of their shopping trip. "They're called Black Glasses, and if you wear or hold them, they're supposed to boost the power of your Dark-type moves! Between that and your same type bonus, any Dark-type move you use in our next battle has gotta be way powerful. Plus, we'll match!" Their trainer closed one eye and pointed at the frames on their own face.
"Rai?" Darkrai picked up the Black Glasses; they looked between the item and their trainer, who was smiling encouragingly at them. Darkrai lifted the Black Glasses higher to examine them; their reflection stared back at them in the lenses. Darkrai looked between the item and their trainer; their trainer's own glasses were settled on the bridge of their nose, the arms reaching back around their head. Slowly, Darkrai lifted the Black Glasses up. They peered through first one lens, then the other, before settling them with the bridge right in the middle, in front of their eye. There; now they could see through both lenses, just like their trainer!
A muffled snorting noise came from their trainer, whose hands were covering their mouth and puffed-out cheeks, squinting their eyes behind their glasses. "Ah," their trainer said, sounding somewhat strained, "maybe wearing them on top of your head would be more your style..."
