Driving and Heart Day challenge
Feb. 6th, 2005 06:12 pmHad a good day today. The coffee-and-donuts thing that happened every week after church has officially been cacelled ;_; for one reason and another, but other than that had a really good time. Ended up knotting in church, because drawing, which I tried last week to keep my hands occupied, did not work out too well.
Was bullied into driving by Mom ^^; It's not that I dislike driving; nor is it that I'm a bad driver (I think I'm pretty damn good, in fact). It's just that I'm lazy about getting my liscence. So, drove Tomas to his confirmation meeting this afternoon. Went to K-mart afterwards to get me a new watch, as my old one had finally broken. (It was a good watch for only ten bucks.) Spent most of the time convincing myself that no, I do not actually need a pocket watch, despite how snazzy it would be. Ended up getting a nice little blue watch.
Went to Ben Franklin's after that (this is a craft store, of which there are only four left(?) in the country--and about three of those are on the east coast ^^;). There was a sidewalk sale going on, and Mom bought a bunch of dollhouse miniature stuff to send to my baby cousin Kate (whose birthday it is today; happy first, Katie-chan!). I got some beads, because I've recently learned a way to weave them into headbands and bracelets and stuff ^_^. A way that does _not_ involve a loom! So, got some beads. And some jump loops, because they were on sale.
Since we were in the mall anyway, we stopped by Waldenbooks, and I spent what little money I have on a copy of xxxHolic (volume 4). (The Japanese sample in the back has Doumeki's name <3 <3 <3. (Socchan: Oh! The kanji at the bottom is 'oni'! And the one in the middle is for 'eye'! And the one at the top is--shit, I know this kanji. I _know_ I know this kanji. So why can't I remember it?! *looks it up* Oh, 'one hundred'. Wait, so Doumeki's name is 'hundered eye demon'? *bursts out laughing*))
Hey, let's play a game! It's called 'see if Socchan will bite off more than she can chew'
What this game involves:
Well, see, I know what I'm doing for my RL friends and my family for Valentine's Day; I bought a mold and melting chocolate (thanks for the tips,
ysabet!). But I feel guilty only doing things for people I know IRL.
So I think, well, I still have about a week until Heart Day; I can just do fandom-related mini-gifts.
Challenge is open to: Anyone and everyone who might want something. And when I say 'anyone and everyone', I _mean_ 'anyone and everyone'. Friends, enemies, lurkers, _everyone_. So if you want something, ask! Chances are you'll get it. (<--- likes doing things for people)
What you get: Something small; I have a few things I need to be doing already for V-day, but I'm willing to take on a little more. Either a small drawing (probably of chibis) or a few hundred words written. Most likely fluff, unless you specifically request not.
Theme will be: Couples oriented. (Note: couples is not limited to two people) Request your favorite, and I'll do my best to come up with something for them.
Requests are limited to: One per person, but not one per fandom/pairing/etc. As in, if two different people ask for the same thing, I'll be making two different things. Oh, and nothing NC-17.
Return gifts: For those who want to give me something in return, White Day is just around the corner ^_^. Or, if you decide to give me something for Heart Day, I'll have to give _you_ a return gift on March 14.
Challenge closes: Art requests absolutely cannot come in any later than 3:00 p.m. U.S. Central time on February 14. (Mistress of Foxes, that's about 9:00 p.m. your time, I think.) Any later than that and they won't be up on time. Writing requests probably shouldn't come in any later than 8:00 p.m. U.S. Central time on February 14, so I can have a little time to come up with an idea, write it, and type it up. A note to the wise: get your requests in early so I can be sure to fit them in!
I look forward to hearing from you ^^v

Date: 2005-02-07 01:48 pm (UTC)*mind reels from OMGcute!* Eee! Okay, I can do that. I can definately do that. Aaah! Cuuuuute!
*stomach reels from the notion of chocolate-flavored-ramen or ramen-flavored-chocolate* O.o
Re: <3
Date: 2005-02-07 03:19 pm (UTC)Yeah, cute... And you can make them chibis if you want... That'll only make it more cute =^n.n^=
...Ewww...>_< Chocolate should only taste of chocolate, NOT ramen *beats rabid Naruto-muse down with a stick*... But I think it fits... Sakura gives him chocolate on Heart Day, but since boys don't give other boys chocolate (such a shame ^_~), Sasuke gives him ramen...
And how many times have I written "chocolate" in this? o_O
Re: <3
Date: 2005-02-07 08:33 pm (UTC)Plunnie attack!! O_O
I'll probably end up writing it tomorrow, as soon as I go buy more instant ramen packages so I can find out if Chocolate Covered Ramen really _would_ taste good (which I think it might, as Chocolate Covered Pretzels taste very good) and, if it does, so I can have a recipe.
Re: <3
Date: 2005-02-07 08:54 pm (UTC)*laughs* And if it's good, tell me... then I'll know what to give people on Heart Day or White Day...
Hey, you think chocolate covered tofu would taste good? o_O
Re: <3
Date: 2005-02-07 09:07 pm (UTC)Chocolate covered tofu... Maybe, but you'd probably have to use chocolate syrup instead of melting chocolate.
Re: <3
Date: 2005-02-07 09:42 pm (UTC)O_O right... I think I'll try it as soon as I get my hands on some good tofu... Unless you want to try it first? (tofu is almost impossible to buy in Denmark... And my family won't let me experiment in the kitchen...)
...But then again... I wanted "Inari Sushi" to be the first tofu-dish I ever made...
Decisions, decisions...
