All about one pinata

I totally intend to look up how to do the squiggle "n" thing, I'm just too lazy to do so right now :P Even though FireFox would probably insist that it's spelled wrong (see also: cliche and cliché).

So when I initially proposed this pinata for AI, I was just planning on using gold coin chocolate candy in it, 'cuz I thought it would be hilarious and awesome. And then people started speaking up, and were like, Noooo, what about the Yoshi eggs? And the stars (never mind that they aren't typically in boxes, IIRC)? And the flamey flower things? And tomatoes and mushrooms?

And I was all like, Well, hypothetically, one could take components for a number of those things and hot-glue them together (coin-shaped cinnamon candy plus non-candy stem, Rollos plus gold-foil Hershey Kisses, etc). Also, there's these Pocky-like mushroom candy things at this one Asian supermarket, and the knock-off brand is only a dollar a box.

And they were all like, Sounds great, you get to it 8Dbbb

Now, of course, it is three days before the con, and the pinata isn't finished yet - as in, I haven't even bought all the candy yet, let alone started gluing things together. So I want to get a second opinion.

My worry with the tomatos would be-- what happens when the piñata breaks/if someone hits too hard? Other than that, mmm, delicious homegrown tomatoes. :9 ♥ I vote if you don't use them, they get to be snacks anyway.

XD I like this plan! I can also do that for eggs, since I can't seem to find any non-chocolate egg-type candy and am otherwise chocolated-out. Just hard-boil them, add green spots, and viola!

BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU PUT IN IT. I ticked gold coins because I thought it was more original, but in Mexico we normally put lots of candy in them.

DON'T PUT TOMATOES THEY'LL CRUSH. Don't put flimsy candy in them either! Also.

Lots of different stuff (candy) seems to be the general opinion here, though I'm probably also throwing in foam star stickers with eyes drawn on. I really wanna go with the lazy option of just gold coins, though. Laaaazyyyyyy...

Why is everyone taking the tomatoes thing seriously? O_o I do not actually intend to put real tomatoes into a pin--*pause, copy-paste*--ñata! It is a silly idea at best, and ends with fruit thrown at us in Closing Ceremonies at worst. I will definitely avoid the flimsy candy if I can, though.

YEAH, BUT WHAT NUMBERS DO I NEED TO USE ON THE NUMBER PAD THING. (Examples: alt + 0166 = ¦ and alt + 0172 = ¬ and alt + 3 = ♥ and alt + 0233 = é etc.) On the other hand, for all I know, it's standard on your keyboard, so.
