Posting here, so I can conveniently copy-paste it whenever I feel the need to use it.
Dear internet user,
What you are currently reading is a standardized response prepared in advance for comments such as yours.
You have just implied that most or all of your acknowledgment of my reality is contingent upon the tone with which it was presented to you, rather than fact. This is also known as the Tone Argument.
While I am a firm believer that acknowledgment of fact should not hinge on perceived politeness, I also understand that knee-jerk responses can and do happen. In this spirit, I would like to invite you to re-read previous arguments, this time with the knowledge firmly in mind that living in an unpleasant reality does not incline one towards constant politeness, especially when the validity of said unpleasantness is questioned by those who do not live in it.
I look forward to hearing more from you when you have secured your pants. Until then, please understand that I will be spending my time with people who either already know, or who are actually willing to learn.
I find I am rather fond of it, though I'm sure it could still use some editing.
