Fic: Excuses
Kuroba Kaito had a number of excuses. It was late and he was tired; he had a test in the morning; he was being chased by the police and was wearing a conspicuous white suit.
It was for these reasons, and possibly many more, that when the Open Window of Opportunity presented itself, Kaitou Kid wasted no time ducking inside, dropping a stolen gem into a conveniently placed open bag of flour, and getting the heck out of dodge.
When Kuroba Kaito found out the next morning where exactly he had dropped off the gem and what the flour was going to be used for, he felt that there was no excuse that could save him. There was nothing left to do except join the pie baking contest and win the jewel back himself.

Sorry it's short and (almost?) late, but I, too, have an excuse! I have, regrettably, been suffering from Writer's Block of late ;_; and only managed to recover a few days ago. However, the plot bunnies just weren't biting--or, at least, the short, funny ones weren't. Finally managed to kick this one out a few minutes ago. Hope it's acceptable and not (too) late!
