Exciting news! Tomorrow, International Talk Like A Pirate Day coincides with our local Zombie March! It'll be March Like A Zombie Pirate Day! Yarrr, braaaains ;)

Anyhow, I promised amigurumi pics, and so amigurumi pics I shall deliver :3 Also, there will be two posts, because one of the amigurumi is just way too cool to share with the others.

A co-worker commissioned a monkey! 'Cuz her husband reminds her of one. Or they have a running joke about him being like one. Or something similar. It was last (school) year, so I don't remember it too well :|a

Dunno if you remember me talking about the coworker I carpooled in with, but she asked for two plushies for her special needs students, 'cuz one of them had a birthday and the other one hadn't announced his and she didn't want either of them to feel left out/neglected/wev.

Anyhow, she asked them what their favorite animals were, and guy one said, "A dog!" And guy two said, "A tiger!" So that up there is my first attempt at a dog. Dunno if you can tell from the picture, but the dog's fuzz is actually light brown.

I was also being rather lazy at the time, so I also passed on the first tiger I made (see here) ^^a

The kids on my bus each got their own animals :3 I only got actual requests from two of my seven kids last year, 'cuz I wasn't terribly good at communicating with the other five ._.a Autism spectrum (I think), etc. The first request animal I made, the snake, is over here, with possibly The Cutest Thing I've Ever Crocheted. His recipient named him "Hissy" :)

This is the other specific request I got: a cheetah. His recipient named him Chester. ...Yes, after the Cheetohs cheetah. He and the kid who got the snake talked about how their animals met and played together and stuff, and I kept thinking, "This would be such a cute kids' book," and then bumping into the realization of how hard Cheetohs would sue me if I actually used the name Chester. So I decided it wasn't to be :(

Start of the guesstimation! The second dog I've made, a golden retriever. This was for the kid whose golden retriever once made it on the bus to visit us ^^a That was an exciting morning.

The new tiger I made! The kid who got this got off at the same stop as two other kids (a daycare that focused on kids with special needs), and I ended up making a lion, a tiger, and a bear. Confession time! I k-kinda ended up going stereotypical on them, 'cuz the tiger went to the Asian-American kid, and the lion to the African-American kid, and the bear to the European(?)-American kid, s-so /)_(\ The kid in question also wore stripes a lot, though, so I kinda justified it to myself that way.

If you read the post with the pic of the snake, it mentions a second lion I made to sell to a coworker. Well, he never picked it up (or paid for it, so I feel no guilt in that respect), so that's the one I gave to the second student here. If you check the other tiger link up there, it looked pretty similar to the lion linked in the same post.

This is the bear I made the third kid. It is quite possibly the second cutest thing I have ever made, if a bit lop-sided and over-stuffed. This is up for debate, though.

A polar bear for the final kid on the list. I decided on a polar bear 'cuz he was so cool X3 Seriously, though, he wore some pretty awesome T-shirts and stuff.

Something completely different:

It's Man-Spider Amazing, The! Just an ordinary spider, until one day, he was swatted at by a radioactive human (or possibly a genetically altered human). Suddenly, he had the powers of a human! Talking, uh. ...Shoot, what other powers do humans have.

Well, anyway, he went on to fight crime as the (in?)famous Man-Arach.
Man-Arach, Man-Arach! Man-Arach, he's got your back!

...Okay, so, originally, I made Man Spider Amazing (The) with the kid I gave the grizzly to in mind. See, that kid wore a lot of Spiderman stuff! And had a Spiderman backpack! And, for all I knew, Spiderman underwear. (Thankfully, I never found out, but I could only assume, given the trend.) I ended up quite surprised when he did not dress up as Spiderman for Hallowe'en.

And then it was pointed out to me that the other kids might get jealous, so Man-Arach stayed with me. He now chills with the original lion, my octopus amigurumi (just... check my handiwork tag on LJ), my full-sized brain slug, and the amigurumi I will be introducing in my next post...!

So yes, those are most of the amigurumi I have made recently. As a bonus, this is the henna design that is currently on my left hand. And fading fast, but I did apply it almost two weeks ago. I'll probably re-do it in a way that looks slightly less like exclamation points over this weekend.
