soc_puppet: Dreamsheep as Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time (Love)
Had Shinkendo today; was going to do a medium length post about how there's testing tomorrow and I'm going to test but I'm probably not going to do very well but I'm going to test anyway because it's important to me, but something else happened.
Mom and I were unloading from the car when we heard this meyowing sound. As it turns out, there was this black cat under Dad's/the family car. We spent about five minutes getting it out from under the car (and _damn_ was it stubborn) but it was worth it. Because it is the cutest thing ever ^_____^ <3 <3 <3 <3...
It's black and Mom says it's male, and it looks grown to me (though I'm not exactly a cat expert; it could just be late adolescence or something). It has green eyes and no collar and while we have him, I'm calling him Takeshi ^_^.
In all probability, we can't keep him. Mom's allergic T-T, and we already have an iguana. But he is the cutest kitty ever! When I got inside and had put my stuff down, Mom let me hold him. He crawled right out of my arms and onto my shoulders ^___^ <3. (Me: Shoulder cat! ^_^) He's so friendly! And he's a purring machine; I swear that's what he was designed to do.
His claws are untrimmed, and though we have a clipper, Mom hesitates to trim them.
We called the humane society and the shelter, and no one was in at the former; the latter can't take him until Monday, so for two days this is OUR CAT.
(I have _always_ been a cat person. _Always_. When I was three and would go down the street to the neighbor's house to be baby-sat while my parents were at work, I was the only kid the neighbor's cat got along with. I would just sit and pet it. (My goal, in all actuality, was to pet it from front to back, and this included the tail ^^;... I didn't manage to pet it that far very often.) On the other hand, Mom also tells the story of how, when the neighbor kids found a ladybug in a spiderweb, they were saying, "Oh, the poor ladybug!", but I just said, "The spider needs to eat, too.", so maybe I've just always been a _wierd_ person, not a cat person. *shrugs* Either way.)
We have set him up with a temporary litter box, lined with shredded newspaper. Mom says he's too friendly to be a feral cat, and I'm inclined to agree. And he is so cute, and I love him to bits, and if I extend this post much longer, that is all it will consist of ^^;, so I think I will cut it off about here.
-----Just then....
Mom: What's the cat's name again?
Me: Takeshi. Ta-ke-shi.
Mom: So we can call him 'Taco'.
-----
I have mixed feelings on whether I hope she means 'taco' or 'tako'. I'm going to make a broad assumption that everyone reading this knows what a taco is, but as I recall, depending on how it's 'spelled', tako can be either kite or octopus ^^;...
So, three options here. Cat in a stiff cornflower shell, wild flying cat, or octopuss.
Me: Considering I already know a squid, this would almost give me a wierd form of uniformity...
So, yeah. That is my Alphonse Moment.
